Paras Arora is quite happy to be back with Udann. "There were reasons which I have already spoken about, for my quitting this Colors show. But now things are back on an even keel, he says.

"The story has moved forward, and now we are focusing more on the interpersonal equation between Imli (Vidhi Pandya) and my character (Vivaan). It is a challenge to play someone who was locked up for years. I have hence grown a beard; luckily, I am still looking young, the actor adds.

Here, Paras feels proud to be associated with a brand like Udann, which brought the issue of bonded child labor to the fore. "Since then, we have had several me toos. The biggest challenge we feared back then was whether the audience would stick on, once the kids (Chakor and Imli) grew up. But we're glad that we could sustain.

Doesn't the current Haveli family track go against the above social justice grain? "A lot of our earlier tracks have been family-based as well; you can't ignore family on desi TV.

Looking ahead, this talented actor, who has done lots of different genres (historical/mytho, with Veer Shivaji /Mahabharat and comedy, with Police Factory), would continue to explore stuff, both on TV and cinema. He has already played the lead opposite Kangana Ranaut, in Rajjo. "I would like to do more films, but I will not wait for them. If it has to come, it will. What encourages me is that today, both TV and films are fusing; the earlier chasm no longer exists.

When asked about web, he says, "I am not too enthusiastic, until something really meaty comes my way. The current staple of sex and sleaze is not my cup of tea. If something like Inside Edge comes up, then I will consider. Agreed, it too had a lot of sex, but it did not appear forced. One more recent digital show that really impressed me was R Madhavan's Breathe.

Best of luck, Paras!!

Good article with interesting questions and even more interesting answers.

My three takes on article:

1. Question "Doesn't the current Haveli family track go against the above social justice grain?" - could this be reason we are getting less IWM articles? IWM doesn't like after 1 year leap tracks?

2. Paras said the biggest challenge was will audience accept grown up kids Chakor and Imli. Did he forgot Suraj and Vivaan were kids also? Imo Vivaan as Chakors best friend and Suraj as her enemy had bigger importance in story then Imli, even when they were kids. Child Imli was adorable and she did contributed to the story in some tracks more in other less, but Suraj and Vivaan always more.

3. Focusing on interpersonal equation between Vivaan and Imli is like someone is shouting on my ear: "You won't get rid of Imli any time soon!" All hopes for her at least temporary exit taking last breath.
But new hope is born that if they focus on Im-Vaan maybe Sukor will also have story of their own and she won't b e popping in, in the middle of Sukor scenes and won't have central role in Sukor tracks. Would be happiest it they give us something like that. Let Sukor deal with Ragini and Vivaan with Imli.

I don't mind imvaan track as long it's not a love one. Like bini mentioned they can give similar plot to imm
Sukor definitely will have their own track. But they will play vivaan scenes with Sukor as well. Maybe viraj will have disputes and chakor will try to be peacemaker

Ragini will play her own game

If imli isn't exiting at all, then at least they should show all know she Is alive. Don't want her being alive fact keep secret in front of suraj anymore

"But now things are back on an even keel" - what does he exactly mean by 'even keel'?

@ Bold - That's exactly what I thought when I read the article.

@ Bold - I'd rather watch vivaan scenes with sukor than imli scenes with sukor.

@ Italics - I echo that.

yeah Sandy i to prefer watching sukor vivaan combination rather than the sukor imli one. we never got proper sukor vivaan scenes in the past but now we are getting. i am glad about that.
i to dont get what even kneel means?

i think ragini may enter haveli bec she is a rajvanshi but will they keep imli out of haveli for long. thats never really possible. so will ragini bring her?

Ruby, I know what the term means. What I don't get is what he is talking about. Well balanced in what way according to him? Did he quit the show coz imli was getting more importance than vivaan? That's what I read somewhere but didn't know how true that was. It could be false info.
