Midnight runners:
To be honest i checked out this one for Kang Ha Neul. Seen him in Likes for like and loved him. so thought of checking his other projects.
and ended up loving the movie.
Him and Park Seo Joon were riot together. hilarious movie which takes serious and darker tone soon yet holds a terrific grip on hilarity and laugh-out-loud moments. and that crazily good bromance.
i am biased towards the comedic moments. even now while doing something else i randomly remember some of those howlarious moments and just crack up and then sheepishly check around to see if anyone caught me in my 'crazy moment'.
thrills, chills, bromance, comedy and a damn good story propped by some really real good acting by the actors. not to mention the actors were such good eye candies. gee ain't that a bonus.
Must watch.
Rating: 10 * on 10.
Seondal: The man who sells river.
watched this one for Yoo Seung Ho my bias.
pretty solid movie. short role of Yeon woo jin was a bonus.
YSH was terriffic as a con man. the man is blessed with such expressive eyes. in all their impish glory they added charm to the conning character. some cons were ridiculously hilarious.
and believable.
and then it gets serious to some extent. The man can cry and how. your heart breaks for him when he sheds tears.
yet the lighter tone is maintained.
some really epic con is pulled, some daring stunt executed superbly and some really strong mind games are played.
and then came the ending. don't want to spoil it for others but damn i cracked up at the end note.
total kamina our guy was for sure.
Watch it for some solid fun and good story telling.

Spellbound.
Major Master's Sun dejavu. difference is unlike Joong won who got to be one of the most fearless K-land hero who treats even the most scariest ghost with his dismissive 'kho jo' swag; Jo Gu of spellbound is terrified of ghost haunting the girl. and that's why his standing by the girl despite his terror comes across as sweet.
quite a few jump scares, lots of hilarious moments and some sweetness and that riot of an ending.
give this movie a go. quite a good watch.

love 911.
a nice movie if you want to watch a decent love story with the ever popular tough scarred guy and a good girl routine. though the girl is not exactly goody good. she comes across as obnoxious arrogant one at first. then she grows and grows on you. guy remains khool from beginning to end.
damn good chemistry. lots of hilarious scenes. rootable secondary characters. easy story line. and sweet ending.
quite a decent watch.

Likes for like.
Started the movie solely for Yoo Ah In. unfortunately disliked his female lead character and didn't exactly like the actress too.
But...
LOVED the other two couple.
restaurant owner and flight attendant. a cohabitation story.
song writer and assistant script writer. young couple.
ff'ed through the first story. loved the other two story lines especially the last one.
Restaurant owner was such a great guy. and a great friend. from disliking each other in the beginning to sharing a home; becoming friends and finally more. the story was lovely.
my favourite couple:
The song writer with hearing disability and his girl.
Kang Ha Neul did a FANTASTIC job as a guy who loved music but can't hear that very music. his vulnerability, helplessness and hurt touches your heart. the scene were he breaks down 'i can't hear' and cries.. heart breaking.
his love story with the girl was so beautiful and that happy ending. got a huge smile and happiness seeing his smile and happiness.
Not only he was such a terrific actor he was SO easy on eyes. that smile is a killer.
Watch the movie for really well told love stories.

The magician.
Watched it for Yoo Seung Ho and he didn't disappoint. he is a fabulous actor. add those gorgeous looks, that smile and those eyes to the mix .. you have a perfect recipe of 'nain sukh'.
the movie is disney movie kinds. a runaway princess meets a magician and their love story with lot of magic and a bad guy thrown in between.
on paper sounds great. in reality.. falls short of expectations. Go Ah Ra was plain bad. her crying was cringe. and it is sad since i loved her in 'you're all surrounded'.
no big wow moments. or heart touching ones. not many fun scenes either.
watch it if you have nothing else to do. or you want to check out YSH.

Heaven's Postman.
Great concept of a guy from heaven who delivers letters of humans written for their deceased loved ones in heaven. and him pairing with a girl who is assigned job of being his assistant as her punishment for sending abusive letter to her now dead cheating boyfriend.
the starting is good. some really heart breaking moments. especially a mother packing and sending a lunch box for her child gone to heaven.
and then the show goes to mode .. slow and boring.
the hero looks sharp. and that's just about it. he can't emote to save his luscious locks.
but the girl is sweet, lovely looking and brings out a spirited performance. too bad she deserved a better deal.
no harm done if you skip this movie.

The age of blood.
Now read the title again.
Age of blood. and boy the makers did take their title seriously. the movie is CGI blood galore. people talk less and hack more.
i am a big Kim Hi Joon fan. (probably his only fan in existence). and when i heard Woo tak of WYWS is here too i hop, skipped and jumped my way into the movie. and skidded on the blood fest of a floor.
i don't mind an action movie. but hey how about trying not to make too cartoonish. hack, splash, splattering graphic blood. repeat. and yes.. repeat again.
and it didn't help the fact that i was rooting for the guys who were in the right to win. and they got a raw deal.
so a word of wise.. if you want to watch this one for your Jung Hae In bae.. control your emotions and give it a skip.
