Ok so I was taken a little aback by how regressive Papa Virani's mindset was portrayed on the show. At first I wasn't sure why they added such a character...what was the reasoning behind it aside from the drama element.
But after thinking about it, I am glad because now the show is giving a social message. That women should be considered equals. I think it was a good line of zoya's when she said she is not only Adi's wife but also his business partner. it gives the message that women can handle both responsibilities.
The creatives have gotten a good opportunity and i hope they really take advantage of this and give us some powerful scenes.
the two scenes i really hope we get is :
1. Papa Virani doing his usual insulting of zoya and not wanting to talk business with her. I want a scene where zoya steps in and handles a difficult situation for papa virani...so he see's zoya solve something that the men his his family couldnt. And we see papa virani realize that women are in fact very capable...if not more capable than men in certain situations.
2. I want a scene where papa virani is doing his usual insults to zoya and adi steps in and puts papa virani in check. something along the lines where adi says..."You are an elder and we all respect you...but you need stop insulting my wife in front of me...hum sab uski izzat karte hai...and i will not tolerate your behavior towards zoya any longer. we are doing business together and we should keep in professional. yeh aapka ghar nahin hai."
Whe papa virani was insulting women i wanted adi to say something...but i guess its too soon for that because they need to seal the deal. i hope CV's actually play this angle out and not forget about it. i'm hoping we get some really powerful scenes from this.
