Deadpool is the most badass and sassy superhero Marvel has ever made a film upon. We saw him a couple of years ago and we all came to know what a rib-cracking, neurotically needy and obnoxiously entertaining person he is. Now we have seen Deadpool 2 and we assure you he is still the same but better...or worse. And guess what? His desi counterpart is ridiculously entertaining too.
The dubbed Hindi version of Deadpool 2 has been changed upside down to cater to the Bollywood lovers and it is laced with the ingredients of becoming a Bollywood blockbuster. The anti-hero actually has all the qualities of a Bollywood hero. He throws punchline after punchline during fights, while normally conversating and even when he is thinking in his head. All of this with the quirk and voice of Ranveer Singh. Trust us, that's not all. And if you are interested, we have listed them below to tell you how bizarrely entertaining Deadpool 2 is (no spoilers though):
1. Goes on the right path
All the heroes are known to take the right path. They might take wrong decisions, get some people killed but they always mean good. And Deadpool does exactly that he fights dirty for the right reasons.
2. Over the top action
Every Bollywood hero can take hundreds of goons/villains/bad people singlehandedly without a scratch, and even if they get hurt the wound gets healed in the very next scene. This sounds similar too, right?
3. Bullets cannot kill him
A Bollywood hero has this invisible shield that dodges multiple bullets being fired at him. And even if some bullets hit him by mistake, he makes sure that he finishes the fight and then drives to the hospital himself. Deadpool, on the other hand, just worries about the holes in his costume because, well, you know.
4. Even if he dies, he is coming back
Like Karan Arjun from Karan Arjun and Bahubali from Bahubali, every Bollywood hero comes back from the dead. And Deadpool, if amputated or killed, just grows back. Which also means he comes back.
5. He has a damsel in distress
Like every Bollywood hero, Deadpool also has a heroine who is extremely beautiful and sexy and lovable and one in a million. She loves him despite himself and she also needs saving sometimes. Same to same, right?
6. He knows parivar ki kimat
We know that Deadpool's life is all about Vanessa and how madly he is love with her. He comes home on time and he apologizes (in his own way) if he is late. He also goes on to gather a kickass team to save a plus-sized mutant kid. Plus we know how much he loves Weasel, Blind Al, and Dopinder.
7. There's always a happy ending
Like every Indian entertainment movie ever, Deadpool is bound to end on a happy note. Because nobody gives a damn about any character in the movie apart from Deadpool and his body can cure itself.

So, the Merc with a Mouth is back with a sequel. Deadpool 2 opens in theatres this Friday. In the Hindi version of the film, Ranveer Singh provides the voiceover for the superhero. And Sorry Ryan Reynolds, but we might just launch a campaign to replace you as the lead. Because after hearing Ranveer as Deadpool, I am not able to decide if Ranveer Singh is more Deadpool than Deadpool, or if he is more Deadpool than he is Ranveer Singh. Such impeccable comic timing, man! And yes, we have to give his voice a lot of credit since more than half the time, Ryan is under the mask and it is just wonderful acoustics of Ranveer's voice that do the job. More on that later. Here we are going to talk about the fabulous potshots that the actor takes at Bollywood pop culture.
You see, Deadpool is a character that loves to break the fourth wall and talk directly to the camera. He is a character that likes to make references to movies. He is someone who likes to make meta-jokes you know like saying, "Ranveer Singh is a great actor in the Hindi version of the film. So, in the version which I watched since the makers wanted to connect to the desi audience, most of the potshots and references are aimed at Bollywood.
