😆😆 Today my Bholu Prasad won millions of hearts along with Diya's, by his proclamation of love... But he won my heart by giving Basic Life Support (CPR) to a patient...
Yeh alag baat hai ke it was the most convenient, and most funny CPR... 😆😆 But its the intent that counts behind the actions, so I give full marks to my Bholu prasad for attempting it. ❤️
NOW PLEASE READ ON AS IT IS IMPORTANT:
For the sake of Knowledge, CPR is the abbreviation of Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation. It is given in case a patient stops breathing and his pulse also drops. Pulse dropping means heart either stops beating or it starts sinking.
Breathing can stop due to any problem with the airways. So this Procedure basically involves three things, 1) Airway maintenance 2)Breathing, 3) Heart revival/Circulation.
1st of all, Airways are checked, the patient is laid in supine position and by lifting the chin up and bringing the lower jaw forward. If there are no signs of breathing, then fingers are sweeped or back blows or chest thrusts are given to make the patient breath on his own. Sometimes,if there is an obstruction in the airways, then airway has to be maintained or opened by directly puncturing the wind pipe (trachea) of the patient through the neck by invading it with a sharp object. (Very risky and only professionals can do it.)
Once Airways are clear, then rescue breathing begins by Mouth to Mouth resuscitation. The rescuer covers the patient's mouth with his or her own mouth and blows air with a lot of force into the patient's mouth. And after two breaths, chest is manually compressed in a certain way to revive the pulse (Something that Ratan was doing.)
But the chest compressions go in a rhythmic pattern with Mouth to mouth. Its like you give 2 rescue breaths, then begin the chest compressions.
Also, Ratan was doing the compressions very lightly. Always remember that these compressions are very strong. The chest compresses (we have to push the chest downwards) and it goes around 4-5 cms down!!! This means that the rescuer has to exert full force of his or her entire body weight. After this compression, when the chest lifts, the pressure is released and the blood circulation to the heart begins. Compression is supposed to be maintained for one-half second...Then it is followed by the same length of time for chest relaxation. And chest compressions are always accompanied with mouth to mouth breathing. The two are supposed to be well coordinated to maintain proper airflow to the lungs and the circulation of the heart.
The chest compressions have to be so strong that sometimes they can fracture the ribs of the patient or even puncture the lungs or liver if done wrongly. Special licenses are given to this kind of Advance Cardiac Life Support workers.
I have a Basic Life Support Certificate and I have encountered this kind of emergency situation twice in my life. Thank God, both the times, I had a lot of other people who helped me..because itne pressure se chest dabaana aik akele banday ke bass ki baat nahi hai. Its a lot of force. Luckily, Alhamdulillah, both times the patients survived and we were able to get them to the hospitals in time.
But a friend of mine DIED because she fell in the water, and water got into her lungs, and NOBODY knew this basic CPR procedure to revive her...
So that is why, these procedures of Basic Life Support should be known to EVERYONE. Like today, Ratan saved that man by his aadhi adhoori hi sahi, but right knowledge. Similarly anyone of you can face an emergency situation like this.
