This is inconsistent direction.
The director is so liberal with flashbacks, they should have made sure to show a flashback of who he is thinking of.
It could be any of the women in his life, including Anjana-- I don't think it was Pooja.
He says things about Zoya like: she cries and makes people care for her, then to Mahi he says: Zoya is the most innocent one in this situation and yet she gets punished, and has no answer when Mahi asks why do you rush to protect her whenever she's in trouble, even though you fight so much.
Then he says to Zoya through the hospital door, and he's using the 'tu' he doesn't say 'tum' -- he says, aisa mat kar yaar, the way he would have talked to Pooja-- so he has come to care for Zoya now.
I think it could be the roof hypothermia incident, but there should have been more to it then. If it was Anjana, then that would come out later.
