Hello guys...

WOW!! Its been long since I wrote anything on IF😆 Life as they say I guess!! Well I have been a silent reader on this forum and enjoy all the chit chats esp the Adisha AT guys...hey ho you peeps!!

Anyways, I have been watching this show from day 1 and like all you ppl, enjoyed the obvious Zabir chemistry plus getting to know the muslim culture/community a little more (I have had muslim friends), the Lucknow setting and most importantly the concept of "Religion and Women Empowerment"!! And I have a problem with the latter bit!! Let me explain!

So while the show is addressing the religious stuff with full dignity and responsibility ... I do not seem to see the same while handling the "women empowerment" bit. Let's start with the character Ruksaar!

Yes you all hate her with a passion but tbh...I feel apart from Zara, this is 1 more character beautifully written. But the way she is being utilized in the show is so against "Women Empowerment".

I don't understand the need for Ruksaar or even Zeenat for that matter to be against Zara. What has she done? It was abbu who played games with both the sisters. Zara only became a pawn in all this. Heck even Kabir knew why he was being married off to Zara and even tried explaining Ruksaar about his father's intentions but still never really backed off the marriage when he had the chance to nor did he clear up with Ruksaar if he will ever marry her or not coz all he ever mentioned to her was he will marry "any" girl chosen by his father for him. I mean till date he maintains a cordial relation with her. He understands the extent of her feelings for him but never really tells her that he does not have the same for her. Rather he tells her "if she is feeling bad seeing Zara with him, she shouldn't have gotten him married to her.I see both the men playing football with Ruksaar.

Let's look at Zeenat. She is being royally ignored post Zara being the new bahu when she has been the first daughter-in-law and always tried to be like a daughter rather than a daughter-in-law and treated the family as her own (pre-zara) but now her say does not seem to matter. Her hubby is good for nothing and won't stand up for her. What did she ever expect from her inlaws for her many yrs of service to the family? That her wish to fulfill her sister's dream be heard? I don't see anything wrong in that. But the way abbu just turned his back on her was injustice. Fine abbu had his reasons, but just don't run over someone's heart like that. And her hubby would not even show a spine when abbu told her that he would get Kashaan married off again when she tried to fight for Ruksaar. Yet Zara is facing the heat from Zeenat when Zara is the one who saved Ruksaar's life.

My point here is, Zara has done nothing that should wrong her in Ruksaar or Zeenat's eyes. Yet both the sisters are targeting her instead of the men of the house. Isn't this contradictory to "Women Empowerment"? How does pitching 1 woman against another makes it progressive show?

I seriously fail to understand Indian TV shows and women up against each other. I mean if we are really wanting to promote Women Empowerment, can we for once and for a change bring all women characters of the show together and being partners in crime rather than against each other. I mean that's what the world really needs TBH. All women coming together as a collective unit and pitched up against men. Also, isn't it also promoting that it's ok for women to eye a married man?

I would really like to see some progressiveness in Indian shows but I guess I am just writing on a blank wall

PS. I have a lill baby so may not be able to reply but all are welcome to continue with their opinions/discussions!!

Hello from ZaBeer/AdIsha AT and lots of love to your baby [<-3]
I guess RukZee will be always against Zara.. They were never progressive with their thoughts.. Zeenat was always snooty since Zara's appearance incident.. Ryksar was always desperate.. They think they are holier than thou and having kids-husband-sasural is life all about.. They havee no passion towards achieving something substantial in life 😆 They should be taught lesson and empowered in true sense.. Imo none likes them bcoz of their snooty, judgemental attitude wven when they were not plotting.

I think the show never claimed to be one on women empowerement and was about the clash of patriachal conservative version of a religion/society and the not so conservative one ( and the clash exists for real and so fors the oppresion in the name of religion ) and i think thats what is happening eventually the usual ingredients are there but its not like people dont know what Zeenat and Rukh are upto Zara knows Shahbaaz knows and i think its only time that Kabir will know!

I totally agree with this .
But in indian shows if they want to promote women empowerment its always the Female Lead who goes off with the agenda , here we have Zara. The negative characters like Zeenat and Ruksar are women who are against " women empowerment " this is how this show portrays them.
Zeenat has had enough in her life , I completely dont blame Zeenat for being " negative " but what's the point in hating Zara when Zara didnt want to even marry Kabeer in the first place. She was forced to do so now what does she expect from Zara ? To divorce her husband ?
If she expects Zara to divorce her husband then why didnt she divorce Kashan when Abbu said that he will get kashan married to someone else when she fought for her sister Ruksar ? So how will Zara let her husband marry someone else ?

About Ruksar , she has crossed all limits , she tried to kill Zara so she is psychotic.

Also what I didnt like about " women empowerment " from this show is yesterday's episode , Kabeer asked Zara to stay at home and she didnt raise her voice against it ?
If Zara is carrying out the show's " women empowerment " agenda , then how could she accept it ? Who is kabeer to ask her not to go to work ?
I am disappointed about this part , i am sure they will bring up this topic in near future and i really wish they do. Because I am not ready to see Zara doing household works ( only ) when she is eligible to join the Sharia Board and wants to join it , nobody has the right to stop her not even kabeer,

Thank you SO MUCH for this post! You are spot on. Absolutely SPOT ON!

The CVs and actors/actresses have numerous times said this show is about women empowerment so I am withholding judgement for now as we are not even 40 episodes into the show I guess. So I am trying to have a little patience now even though, as you have mentioned above, characters such as Rukhsar and Zeenat, and their actions are making me disgusted and have doubts on the direction of the so called 'women empowerment' the makers will show. I mean...Rukhsar has planned murder, for God's sake! This is extremely psychopathic behavior! 😕 Once again a hindi show has resorted to showing a woman being another woman's worst enemy!

I also said in another post, NOTHING can justify Zeenat and Rukhsar's behavior. Not only from a humane point of view, but also because they are literally dreaming of ending Zara's life - the same woman who donated her blood to save the likes of Rukhsar.

I'm getting feeling that after Rukhsar planted that seed in Kabirs head about him only becoming deputy Qazi only because Qazi saab doesn't have a son has created insecurities in Kabir. In the future his opposition and this insecurity could lead to Zara becoming deputy or even shehar qazi, I don't know if that could be a possibility? After all the qazi role is of advisor and guide not just to lead prayers, which Islamically she wouldn't do. And if her dad can appoint Kabir as deputy I'm sure he can appoint Zara if she works for it. After all she's equally qualified.

Ruks/ zeenat relates too much with reality..like we see this usually in our daily lives.if first bshu sister is not chosen for dewar, she reacts in same way as zeenat.and that girl, not literally plotting like ruks, but creates problems in leads life.
I think they will go character by character...like alina, Zara ,Reema...they will shown in relation with empowerment.and who knows maybe ruks in future😃

Awww lots of love and hugs for your cute little baby!🤗
Ok what you just wrote made me think differently about ruks. Let' get this straight I still hate her I sympathise with her to a certain extent.

Kabeer is just so unaware about his surrounding I honestly don't know where his head is. He is causing so many confusions.

With Zara, over whether or not they have fallen in love. And with ruks on whether or not he will ever consider marrying her. Any one in a relationship should already know that honestly and respect are the greatest two qualities you should possess at all times.
Or else the relationship will crumble.

The part about both father son duo playing football with ruks as the ball is spot on. However I think kabeer is unknowingly dismissing her feelings for him like oh she'll get over it. Where as abbu is playing a more calculated game of chess with her.

It's sad but it' not like shes waking up from her dreamworld. She' started plotting and planning and frankly it ain't working for her.
Sometimes it' time to realise that you've been beat.

As for women empowerment I feel as if it can only be explored after oppression i. 've got high hopes that Zara will emerge from this stronger than before. We want to feel inspired by a FL who stood up against the world for her beliefs and her rights!
I hope the cvs give us this...

The very fact that Zara had to marry someone against her wishes itself showed that there is no real women empowerment. If anything that aspect was glossed over by showing Zara has accepted the relationship and now has developed feelings for Kabir.
