Are Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli attending Sonam And Anand's Wedding

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are just a few days away from tying the knot and the wedding preparations have already begun in full flow.

The rumours of their wedding started arising post Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's hush-hush wedding in Tuscany, Italy. While Anushka and Virat kept things on a lay low and didn't announce their wedding until it was official, Sonam and Anand's family instead shared a statement confirming their impending wedding.

The statement read, "From the Kapoor & Ahuja families, The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives. Thanks & Regards."

While the Mehendi function will take place on May 7, the wedding ceremony will be held on the morning of May 8 while a grand reception will be hosted by the Kapoor and Ahuja family at The Leela.

One wonders if Anushka and Virat will be making a joint appearance as a married couple at Sonam and Anand's wedding but such is not the case.

A source revealed to Pinkvilla, "Anushka is on tight schedule post her birthday as she will be heading to the United States, in paticular Alabama with Shah Rukh for the final schedule of Aanand L. Rai's movie, Zero. Hence, she will be missing out on Sonam's big day. On the other hand, Virat is busy with IPL 2018 as his team Royal Challengers Bangalore have a match on May 7 against Sunrisers Hyderabad."

Others not attending Sonam and Anand's wedding are Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone who will be walking the red carpet at Met Gala 2018 in New York, on May 8.
