Netflix Hires Srishti Behl
In its ongoing process to build a strong India team, it is believed that Netflix has roped in content creator Srishti Behl in the critical position of Director, International Originals. Arya (Behl) is a successful entrepreneur and has backed several hit TV shows. She has also been involved in producing many Hindi films.
Responsible for building the Indian content slate for Netflix, Arya (Behl) will be working with Indian producers. Here's wishing her tons of luck!

Kartik Joins
Last week, we reported that filmmaker Shashank Khaitan would be launching his assistant director, Raj Mehta, as a director in a film that would be backed by Dharma Productions. We also told you that the film would see two couples as leads. Now, we hear that one of the couples will be played by a fresh pair, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sidharth Malhotra. We also hear that the newest star in town, Kartik Aaryan, will be a part of this film. Hmm.

A Race For Race 3
There's plenty of speculation around who will distribute the upcoming Eid dhamaka movie, Race 3. The Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez multi-starrer movie has been directed by Remo D'Souza, and produced by Salman Khan and Ramesh Taurani. But, a distributor is yet to be finalised. We hear that there are two big corporate houses in the race but sources close to Salman Khan and his production house say that Khan might bring in YRF to exploit this deal on his behalf.
Well, it looks like anyone in this race will face tough competition before they make a profit with this guaranteed blockbuster.

A Three-Way Clash
There's a lot of talk around the release date of Kangana Ranaut's next magnum opus Manikarnika Queen Of Jhansi. The film was to release on April 27 but was postponed because it was not completed in time. Now, even though the makers have not announced a final release date, we hear that the film will probably hit cinemas on August 15.
While it is great that the movie is aiming for the Independence Day weekend, it will clash with two other films on this popular holiday. Manikarnika Queen Of Jhansi will be battling Akshay Kumar's GOLD and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate at the box office. We will have to wait and see if either party backs out or are confident of their content to weather this storm.

Arjun In Premam?
Over the years, many filmmakers have wanted to make the remake of the Malayalam movie Premam, a 2015 coming-of-age film that was a hit in the South. Now, there is talk that the film is finally being made in Hindi and Arjun Kapoor has been approached to play the lead. The film will mark the directorial debut of Oscar Award-winning sound mixer and editor Resul Pookutty.
