No.. Not even in the slightest bit were they similar.. For starters, Khirad knew when to snub a man who was doing her wrong and Asher knew the meaning of asking for forgiveness, both of which were alien concepts in IPKKND

IPKKND was not similar to Kutumb either because even in that Gauri was a very very strong headed girl who knew to give it back to her husband and Pratham apologized to her after realizing his wrongful ways

Nope! Don't think so.

IPK and Humsafar are so different to each other, be it storyline or characters.

And I'm not sure if IPK is a copy of Kutumb but it's defo a copy (literally the whole storyline and characters) of Ekta's popular show Kitani Mohabbat Hai (Season 1 and 2). IPK was the product of mixture of both seasons of KMH. 😆

I was a kid when IPK aired and I used to love it. Now, I find it to be like any other Hindi serial - Ghissa pita.

But the chemistry was great!

Humsafar was well directed to some extent, but had a very trashy story. It also had the ghissa pita element of saas bahu drama. It seems better than an Indian tv show because it had a limited number of episodes, which ensured no nonsensical dragging like Indian shows. Also, it had some nice scenes and great acting by Fawad. Like the scene in which he is talking to his friend on the phone, enquiring about a surgeon for his daughter's treatment. The range of emotions shown in that one scene is unmatchable.

I don't get how Pakistani shows r progressive? I loved zgh but zaroon was top level mcp. He has different set of rules for women. He find sleeveless dresses offensive rofl.

N humsafar was more regressive jeez! let's not get me started over it

I have seen a few Pakistani dramas with my grandmom, and yes, almost all of them have a regressive tone to them.

ZGH was my first Pakistani drama and I really liked Zaroon. But, have to admit he was misogynist as hell. He didn't like his mother focusing more on her career than the family, whereas we never saw him questioning his Dad ever on the work - life balance problem. I hated how the mother focusing more on her career was shown as a bad thing that affected the kids and their relationships with their respective spouses (Zaroon's sister implying her marriage breaking apart because of the examples set by their mother). I could totally understand why Asmara left him.

I would beg to differ, I think Zaroon did not like his mother being career oriented not because he does not like the idea of women empowerment but because he has seen his parents having a difference of opinion and mostly his father being on the receiving end and compromising to keep the family united. Infact there was also a sequence when Zaroon expresses that how much he adores his mother in law Rafia because, being a single mother, she was working plus giving her children the deserved love and time which definitely Zaroon and Sara did not get from their mother.

Coming back to Pak shows being regressive, yes they are but they are also good at depicting harsh realities of society in a very subtle manner unlike Indian show which are terrible these days with all the super natural bakwaas.
