Shrimati, another popular 90s show is
set to air on your TV screens soon.
According to a report in The Times of
India, musical show Antakshari, that
brightened up Friday evenings will soon
be back on TV.
It's not yet decided on which channel the
show will be aired but it's expected to go
into production in the next two months.
The makers are on look out for young TV
celebs to host the show.
Actor-comedian Sunil Grover and actress
Hina Khan, are some of the TV celebs
who've been approached for the show.
However, no one has been roped in yet.
Antakshari premiered in 1993; the show
ran for around 12 years and aired 15
seasons. The show saw Annu Kapoor as a
constant host while his co-host kept
changing. Popular faces like Renuka
Shahane, Durga Jasraj, Pallavi Joshi,
Rajeshwari Sachdev and Shefali Chhaya
have hosted the show along with Kapoor.
The original format of the show was kept
the same with few changes that were
incorporated over the time. The teams
were Deewane, Mastaane and Parwaane
and the first round was the easiest one
where Annu Kapoor used to sing a song
and the first team had to sing with the last
letter of his song.
The show will be pure nostalgia for the
90s kid, as the show even made
Antakshari a popular game during family
get-togethers.
