As someone who really likes Sri Devi as an actress, I think Parvathy deserved it more. It's obvious it wasn't for Mom per se but in remembrance of her achievements and cumulative work. Just on the basis of this one performance, I'd still say Parvathy deserved it more. But then at least Sri Devi was a good actress and deserved to win way back for Moondram Pirai so I guess it's okay. Also yay for ARR 🥳 He might not be half as good as he was back in the day but he is still a lot better than most others. And Sasha is awesome. Glad she won.

Happy and sad at the same time...with Shekhar Kapur heading the jury and she having passed away, I don't know how to really take this...but I'm sure Sri would have been tremendously happy today with the award...anyways for me Sri has always been and will be above and beyond any award!!❤️

That's true they have same director/actor relationship as Priyadarshan/akshay did 😲 😲 😆 She was the star of his biggest film ⭐️

Finally the RIGHT person won Best Actress Award.

She deserved to win Filmfare as well. Sri's performance in Mom was way better than Vidya's in Sulu. Like no comparison. Glad NA got it right.

They should have given her Padma Bhushan instead, not this. Mom isn't that great a film or performance.

How I wish she won a NA for English Vinglish itself. For Mom, everyone knows she won because of sympathy and since Shekhar Kapoor was heading the jury.

I feel the same despite Shekhar Kapur's clarifications. However, Parvathy too got a special mention.

A special mention is not the same as an NA though. Parvathy was a lot better than Sri Devi IMO. Even Aditi Balan despite being a debutante was fantastic in Aruvi, a film which is head and shoulders over Mom. It's obvious the sympathy factor played a huge part. Which is sad because Sri is a really good actress and should have won an NA ages back for Moondram Pirai.

Haha I really like Aditi. She is not a quintessential heroine yet she was absolute brilliance in Aruvi. I'd like to see more of her. Ditto with Parvathy. Parvathy is a better actress than most people and that women owns every single role she plays. Have been a fan since her first Tamil film Poo. I remember Bharadwaj Rangan called her outstanding right after that film and compared her with yesteryear actress Shobha. Which is a huge compliment because Shobha was considered to be a brilliant actress back in the day and she died too soon.
