I didn't vote because you didn't give an option about the flawed characterization of both the main characters...Because I think it's the extreme behaviour of both the lead characters which is causing the downfall in TRPs currently... Zoya's extreme naivety in not even willing to give a thought that Yash might have cheated is irritating and Adi's extreme anger and irrationality in showing that anger on poor Zoya who has no direct connection to his present state and manhandling her frequently is equally irritating! Logically it would have made sense if he is shown asking questions about Pooja to her mother or trying to find out how Pooja and Yash actually met and how it started instead of going behind Zoya!
See I have been a fan of Harshad right from LRL days and Jen from Beyhadh days but the general TRP audience's reasons for watching the show may be different... Gone are the days where crying females and manhandling heroes got TRPs, now audience want strong independent females and gentlemen heroes. I don't watch many of them but from general outline I think almost all leading shows have that type of lead characters currently, at least to an extent. But having said that, I am hoping that in coming episodes Zoya will become a stronger female because till now she hadn't even worked for a day in her life, but now she's handling a sinking business almost by herself, which is a huge progress to her character. Also I think in coming weeks, Adi's irrational anger may become less and gradually TRP audience will get what they want, and TRPs will pick up then. Also, I don't think Flashbacks are causing any difference to TRP aunties... In fact they might create a little sympathy for the leads saying they had such good memories with their respective spouses yet those people cheated them...
Maybe paradoxically, the makers being overly concerned about the ratings is actually hurting the show. This is just my opinion but I feel the creatives are experimenting and throwing darts haphazardly with the hope that it hits the target, the trp audience. I'm also saying this because I have noticed the whole cast be pretty concerned with the ratings. They do these live videos and the only thing on their agenda is to stress on watching this show on tv.
The first week went by in jet speed without as much as establishing the main and the parallel leads. I was surprised that the accident happened in the first episode itself. I understand that the purpose was to build suspense and it would have worked fine had they used the following weeks to build on that storyline and not relented to TRP pulling antics; case in point being a stereotypical vamp (Mahi), sprinkle of saas bahu drama between Yash's mom and Zoya, incessantly crying damsel in distress. More crying equals more drama quotient equals more TRP in their mind. The show has all the right ingredients, a drop dead gorgeous lead couple with impeccable chemistry and acting skills, the story isn't bad it has mystery, the side characters are interesting and there are light hearted comic moments too. What this equation misses is the creatives' hold of their vision; maybe its the channel, maybe that's how the tv industry works. But the makers should have faith in the immense potential they have and allow time to build their characters; their plotline. Once the show has direction it should eventually win a loyal fanbase. If they stop worrying about it so much, it might just work in their favor. Just my opinion

So even shows like Yeh rishta, kumkum Bhagya , Naamkaran etc are doing much better than Bepannah in terms of trp. From 2.8 to 2.2 and now 1.8 , what could be the reason?
