Hi all, i'm vandana from new jersey. Been binge watching Bepanah for the last couple days and decided to chime in! I've been active on other forums and this is my first post here. Nice to see so many people on this forum too!! ..
I'm loving the show so far - HC is a stunner as Aditya and is playing his part really well and so is Jen as Zoya.
I'm actually loving the characterization of both so far. I actually happen to know someone just like Zoya and while many have pointed out on other threads that her character is rather unrealistic, I beg to differ. I know someone who was brought up in a very similar manner. Her dad worked with the Indian Army and she was super protected by him - not allowed to talk to boys and he always kept tabs on her whereabouts etc. The first boy she met and spoke with, she landed up falling in love with - that was perhaps more of an infatuation but she was so repressed that that didn't really understand her feelings and mistook it to be love and was thrilled when she realized that guy felt the same too. Much against her parents wishes she got married to him - He actually had a job with a shipping corporation and would be out at sea for 9months of the year! ..initially she put up with it ..but with time the relationship began to lose it's charm and she used to be bored out of her mind as she just finished a basic college degree and didn't bother to get herself a job ...Her husband refused to quit his job and find something that would not have him travel out so much ...she then went back to her parents house but her dad used to keep telling her how he had told her not to marry that guy and what not ..finally she couldn't put up with him and enrolled herself in a computer training class and later applied for higher studies to the US. Today she works with a very popular IT company in the US and is a strong advocate for girls' STEM education! I think circumstances really shape a person. If parents suppress the kids it really takes them a jolt to get out of their dreamland and do something for themselves!
I think Zoya is in a very similar situation.
I also don't think Adi is totally unjustified in his anger. He didn't even dream that his wife was cheating on him - and the very thought makes him want to puke and vent his frustration out.
Having said that, I also am not 100% sure that we have enough to conclude that pooja and yash were in a realationship. Perhaps it was professional and friendly - perhaps they felt it easier to share things with each other rather than their respective spouses - we still don't know the entire back story to come to a strong conclusion ..
all in all, I love the build up so far and hopefully the CVs are able to keep it up ..the sexual tension between Adi and zoya is amazing and am hoping to see a lot of fun moments between the two as time goes by ..it would be fun indeed to see them become friends and then fall in love! ..looking forward to the journey!
