Sara Ali khan vs Janvi Kapoor

Two weeks ago, it was announced that Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar had found their leading lady for Ranveer Singh's Simmba, in Sara Ali Khan! The announcement sent a flurry of excitement among fans who were thrilled to know that Ranveer and Sara would share screen space for the first time. But a report in a leading tabloid brings out a surprising revelation. Turns out, another debutante was in the running for the same role. In fact, the report reveals that she was the first choice! The debutante in question turned out to be Janhvi Kapoor.

However since she spoke about being considered for this project even before the news was out, may have cost her the role. Report also suggests that she was scared of sharing screen space with Ranveer who possibly could be given more mileage in this film. But all that's in the past now as fans now welcome Sara Ali Khan as the leading lady of Simmba!

Simmba is based on the 2015 Telugu film, Temper. The original starred Jr NTR, Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film went on to become one of the highest grossing films of that year. It is a story of a notorious cop who changes his ways on meeting a girl. It is touted to be a hardcore commercial entertainer that promises high octane stunts. With Ranveer stepping into Jr NTR's shoes, we will see him play a cop whose name is Sangram Bhalerao. The first poster featured the actor in a dramatic cop avatar. The film is set to release on December 28th, 2018. The action entertainer might just clash with Salman Khan's Dabangg 3. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in Dhadak, opposite Ishaan Khatter this July.
