I'm honestly very disappointed with the show right now, and especially vedika's character. This show is over the top regressive, illogical in its tracks (as the current track with nidhi and Sahil fake marriage proves), and the female lead is spineless and all talk no action. Vedika is the weakest female lead I have ever seen, who gives empty lectures about honesty and truth being a teacher by profession, yet fails on numerous occasions to act upon her own words. Examples of this are the current track with her cheating Sahil into a forced marriage and expecting him to accept it, and the other example being when she agreed to give her house away as dowry for her niece's marriage under pressure, knowing fully well it is an illegal practice. It was Sahil who has always stood up for the right thing, not vedika, especially as he was the one two solved the dowry and marriage issue by confronting the groom and explaining to him how wrong dowry demanding is, whilst convincing him to marry vedika's niece. Vedika could have tried to explain to the boy too, but she chose the easiest and cowardly route of submission to the inconsiderate demands of others. Vedika has only supported the wrong by keeping quiet out of societal pressure. The only time I found her to be justified was all those times she said she couldn't fight society everyday whenever she was humiliated as she knew that she couldn't shut everybody up and needed to live there, but apart from that, she is empty words with very little redeeming qualities I'm afraid. The only two reasons I'm sticking around is because I loved karan since suhani si ek ladki, whose performance in this show is spectacular as the character of Sahil, and the concept of a 24 year old boy marrying a 42 year old mother of a 15 year old, and that is it. The execution of this show so far has disappointed me with its over excessive regressive moments which are distressing to watch.
