So I was just surfing through TV the other day and chanced upon the Sony schedule. On pressing the information button for YPNTKH, it displayed :
The story of a young, budding lawyer Siddhant who eventually realises the importance of love over other materialistic achievements.

Instantly, I started pondering over it and ultimately realised why and how was he running behind 'shortcut to success'.

Cut to flashback, Sid in his teens was a clean, simple guy. Not that he wasn't a slightly arrogant fellow, friends and family sufficed his definition of happiness. He loved Anushka, selflessly and truly. The day he decides to propose her, he firstly waits for long hours and finally realises that maybe the girl he loves is using him as an entertainment package. She gets apparently 'forcefully kissed' by a rich young brat.
Realisation hits him as he starts feeling money and status and synonymous to getting the love of your life. He had a right to get close to her, owing to the feelings they shared but any random guy got away with that, courtesy the moneymoney and status. He mistakens Anushka with any other spoilt girl who just uses people and then throws them away. He felt that now that she was leaving for America, his chapter in her life was over.

And till date, he is feeling that getting a widespread name is essentially important to be loved and cared for. He loves her in the present date, admits it somewhere even today, but wants her to 'run behind him', thereby getting justice for his rejection back then.

Anushka on the other hand, being a softie, was emotionally shaken. Siddhant didn't or couldn't trust her back then, that it wasn't her fault, and till date, she's unable to trust anyone. Each time she says 'baharwaala hai', 'advantage lega', 'I don't trust you', its an echo to the accusations Siddhant once stained her with. Her trust issues arise due to the fact that she herself wasn't trusted upon by the one she loved.

I don't know if you guys already knew about it but it was only yesterday I realised the true crux of the show. It ain't any ego clash or past MUs, its about stereotypes and some wrong mentalities the mind is impressed upon due to circumstances.

Sorry if I just bored you 😆

You are right mahi even i believe that the show is about how sometimes people think that love is synonymous with success and wealth and if you have those you will have love..I think sid has become this ambitious because of the rejection he faced at quite a young impressionable age; he must have really loved anushka for her 'apparent betrayal' to have made him chase after success this passionatley..Or i sometimes also feel that he actually wants revenge; he wants to be very famous and rich so that anushka runs behind him and then dump her. I dont know why but i have a feeling that anushka might fall for him again considering how emotional she is and this time he might just use her and then break her heart to show her how he felt.

I think for the first time an Indian show has showed that the lead wants to make it big in life for himself coz he wants the money and status and importance and shit. I doubt it's about the girl. Materialistic things are important in life, not deriding love or anything.
Moreover, I think he wanted to make it big even before Anushka and he had a fallout. He's still a simple guy but with big ambitions. Sorry, I have a different point of view here. But glad you expressed your thoughts. XD

Yup, exactly!

Oh my, it'll be very stereotypical and bad on his part but it's quite probable.
I think he loves her, keeps thinking about her all day. He shouldn't do that

Materialistic things are definitely important, there's no denying! And I was talking about his approach towards succeeding changing after the rejection. No doubt, Siddhant was ambitious from the very beginning but the shortcut to success & it doesn't matter how you succeed thing came in (shayad) after his rejection.

[Usko mere Saath ghoomne mein sharam aati thi wasn't too much like the younger ShraMan? CVs, please keep those things away 😭]
Jabki that wasn't the case!

Hope the writers don't go that way... it would be a hisaab barabar redux.

I agree with you. It is essentially about Sidhanth growing up, realising why he is named so. That is his dad's dream for him, and even yesterday Anushka mentioned it. If he really understood his dad, he wouldn't be going through these situations in the first place.
He is not perfect and I love that about him.
