Dark or light colours for wedding motif

I want to help my fiancee make wedding arrangements. She has assigned me to coming up with good colour motifs for our big day. I'm not really the artsy type of person so I need others' opinions whether we should have dark or light colours. We're having a June wedding, on the 20th to be exact. It's our second anniversary after knowing each other in a meet foreign tours. I think she would want to match our motif with the season. If I'm not mistaken it's a day before the official start of summer. Wouldn't it be nice to welcome the summer with a wedding full of summer colours? There are dark colours for summer and there are light ones too. I don't know which one to choose.
