Excellent analysis.. CVs pyar mein itna kho gaye ki literally unko waqt ka ehsaas nahin hua ;)
Btw, dil hai ki maanta nahin was released in July 1991( Internet confirms this). If Sameer was in the busstop in May 1991( wait, or was it February 😉 ), then how come July 1991 songs were being played?
Should we ignore that as an " ehsaas? 😆 ... or maybe the weed influence helps them time travel at will between past , present and future? 😆
Zulu... I respect your views on the timelines confusion.. 😊
In fact... this confusion is a clear indication of poor writing by the CVs..just like glaring bloopers...which can actually be very irritating!!
Actually.. I was responding more to the May 1991 fact-fiction marriage.. 😆
It's like the main CV has the path laid out...and the junior writers scramble to write the actual scenes..and the wavelength sometimes doesnt match
I will illustrate this with an example... suppose Ms Shashi Mittal ( just an assumption here, it could be anyone here..) has an interest in relating an event in the love tale of say how in the times of technologically challenged times the two lovers kept in touch...obviously she will only provide the broad idea whereas the actual creative team will scramble to work out the flow; they have a date and event but unfortunately the scenes leading up to this track hasn't taken into account the misalignment of dates logic etc which is why the date sticks out like a sore thumb... the better thing ideally would be to refer to a fictional instance but I suppose that is a challenge here becos they are calling it a event that has actually occurred in the past 😲
I know as viewers we will attach different amount of importance to how the narrative is being presented but I 100 % agree that writing is showing a bit of strain in these emotion charged episodes...when the need of the hour was to keep distractions away.

Sacch mey !!! 😆 BTW absolutely agree ur timelines ... makes sense 😃
I know ki monday tak dekhna mushkil tha.
What changed that the direction and story is getting messed up?? Hopefully the fact the show is doing well doesn't influence them to throw in weird stuff and bring in twists for the heck of it.. The pacing too is not right.
So far the writers have been on point in the way the story has unfolded and episodes presented. But looks like once they have a thought lately they just rush into it without keeping in mind the timelines.
After all the concern and criticism how the heck did Vishakha not worry about Sameer's final exams and the fact nahi diya toh fail ho jayega and somani phir sey insult karega...
How do the family go out of town so close to the exams and not during the vacation?
If Kiranji was busy they could still show him travelling for work and held of on the seperation.
I wanted to see Sameer complete his 11th and get good marks and make nanu & Naina proud. This could have then happened during the summer vacation and we could have had a decent holi episode too...

Zullu ur post is hilarious 🤣
since i m from A'bad, i always knew that academic year run from June to April not sure how it is in other states. so when in the first episode it was shown she topped 10th it was year 1989. so they are in the academic year 1989-90 for 11th. and with the first promo, i always thought ke 1990 feb is speical to her since they wud confess their love at that time and not meeting first time... though i had no idea how and wen they can take the story from sept to feb for confession.. but then it happened. again till the farewell 1990 it was fine since i thought it has to 1990 only as per the academic year... so too many bloopers happening for sure...coming to May 1991, i think that is just to show Rajiv Gandhi issue. I had mentioned in some other post I'll re-quote herealso regarding riots as well - Ahmedbad till early 2000s was more susceptible to riots/curfew and what not... at drop off hat there used to be curfews... so though things were normal through out the country during Rajiv Gandhi's death, the chances of issues in A'bad cant be overlooked. i dont recall whether there was an issue or not as I was just 7 years old then... and I am even sure that if there was an issue it will not be shown anywhere in news as such incidents were too common at that time

Hey Rekha, firstly I'm really glad to have a different type of discussion on this...And I can understand this point of yours that the junior writers scramble to write based on a broad idea proposed by the head or main writer for eg Shashi Mittal here...But see at the end they all are at a workplace like how we are...they aren't a service based but a product based organisation...they are selling something...In our product based orgs. don't we check things before launching the product in the market? We do it right ...We check it, assess it, change it 10 times, then we do a final draft...same is with them...as a head isn't it their team's responsibility to check what the junior writers are scrambling? If you are selling something good since past many days, isn't it the responsibility of the whole team to keep a tab on quality...because if quality falters who will buy the product...See in their case especially with good amount of technology they can always view their old episodes, they have easy access to it, and based on that they can try to continue from the date or month they last showed...@bold... Yes common sense indicates that if you care about the quality of your work...these aspects should matter to you in the final product. I see so many editing glitches at times that I lose count. Similarly I am a bit finicky about camera angles and how deftly they handle camera work...While the camera angles and handling are pretty decent in this outing unlike the serial i watched earlier...In fact their camerawork was good during the shaadi episodes. As for their work schedule...I dont know how quickly they go to the editing table. In my view, being ahead on the episode bank is both a bane and boon. Boon when you can plan ahead and rewrite some scenes...( for instance, they shot the coffee spillage on Sameer by Naina but it was differently done in the end. So they perhaps decided against creating an issue on that front between Naina nd Sameer. ) Bane is when you are so ahead that while it actually goes to the editing table and glitches are noticed and the track is already moved ahead and so how do you re-shoot the scenes...You must think I am making excuses for them..😆 No...I am just wondering aloud how they can better once they find they are wrong. I am sure there are ways but these guys are a bit macro in their approach...@Bold: I agree with this...it would have been better to keep it as fictional instance...but from the start the theme of the show is to depict an era and hence timelines are important...because people know what has happened in the past in what date and what time...Hope I'm making sense here...But yes distractions were minimal in the initial episodes which are increasing day by dayAgree completely and I wont be surprised if that increases too...In the separation track...it is a rife situation for more loopholes...I hope they pull up their socks
