No Relief For Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor; Declares Bombay High C

On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court refused
to grant interim relief to actors Ranveer
Singh and Arjun Kapoor in an FIR filed
against them for allegedly using severe
profanity in the AIB Roast, which many
consider to be a turning point in Indian
comedy.
However, Santosh Dundkar, who filed the
complaint claimed the show was "vulgar,
obscene and po*nographic.

In February 2015, FIRs were filed against
Kapoor, Singh, filmmaker Karan Johar,
comedy group AIB and actresses Alia Bhatt
and Deepika Padukone among many other
notable figures for obscenity. All of them
had participated, either in an active or a
passive way in the event. While the Bombay
High Court had granted interim relief to all
the accused back then, now fresh reports
claim that the court has denied interim
relief to Kapoor and Singh who provided
the exclamation point' to the AIB Roast.
Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor
approached the High Court earlier this year
after they received summons from the Pune
police, directing them to visit the police
station for questioning and recording their
statements. They claimed in their plea that
the FIRs against them bore an ulterior
motive. They also alleged that the FIRs were
filed with a mischievous and mala fide
intent, and sought that the same be
quashed.

My friend attended the show and she totally loved it. I didn't like it that much par iska matlab ye nahi mai haath dho ke piche pad jaau. Internet trolls kam the jo ye court cases wale trolls bhi khatam nahi hote.

This will go down as the dumbest violation of free speech in Indian history.

Move past it people

Roast is meant to be this way. There was a warning given before the start, if anyone sensitive or likely to feel offended shouldn't have watched it in the 1st place.

Anyway obscene and adult jokes are part and parcel of 99% of hollywood movies, even TV series...

its high time Indians start accepting this kind of humour...if not, then at least accept such a humour exists
