Same happened with the Saxons. Uhtred of Bebbanburg, Uhtred son of Uhtred, Ealdorman Uhtred, Uhtred Uhtredson... Yes yes I am a fan of the show The Last Kingdom. 😆

In 21st century, people still give their own names to their kids adding jr at the end or II. 😆 This old habit is still present in humans. 😆

Wow there were name shortage in both India n other countries so puru n Alex n Darius had to copy their own names at Bharat n Farsi have something in common puru will get a heart attack after knowing this

I am slightly confused, I know giving the names to kids was a tradition in India too but wasnt the son of Puru named Malayketu? Aside probably the name of Puru itself was Parvatak

Malayketu was the younger son who became the success.

Apart from him there was another one who died in the war against Alexander.He was called Porus Jr

So in all probability he would have been named Parvatak too like his father
