It is a devastating loss for Indian industries- be it BW, Tamil or Telugu. She was the first female pan-indian superstar. She gave many hits, in fact movies were written for her. And many times, she was paid more or equal to her male co-stars as according to her box-office power. And she is one of the rare actresses with such a repertoire of movies in her name. She was a part of most of our childhood. She was an icon and will be remembered for years. At this sad moment, while mourning her, let's celebrate her legacy. Post your favourite movies/ songs of her in this thread. Her work and contribution to cinema is innumerable. Let this thread be a tribute to her and her unforgettable work!

P.S. I will strictly report any bashing/trolling in this post. Leave her personal life aside and let everyone mourn her peacefully for one day.

So difficult to name one. But this film called Kshana Kshanam is my absolute favourite. You simply cannot miss it. Class act by Sridevi.

I keep watching English Vinglish again and again too.

I haven't seen her old movies. The only films I am familiar with are English Vinglish and MOM, and English Vinglish happens to be my absolute favorite. I still sometimes watch it on my laptop. An absolute gem!

The fear of a middle class, simple woman taking a flight abroad, someone who hasn't ventured outside much, whose life has always revolved around her husband and kids was so beautifully portrayed by Sridevi. I was bowled over!

Her acting felt so genuine, that it reminded me of my grandmother - her lack of English skills, and low confidence.

For me, Sridevi will always be the beautiful Shashi, clad in a crisp red Saree with a plate of laddoos in her hands, moving to the tunes of Navrai majhi ladachi. ❤️ 💔

Women are usually less negative, less hateful and full of life. Sri Devi was extreme in that case..very gentle ..positive person not into controversies. Great bollywood family..class people.

But this is how it is .. what can one do.

Hawa hawai is famous..

My fav is

The first memory of hers that I have is of the song chandini I was barely 3-4 years old but I used to hum and dance to it, it was my absolute favourite as a child. Then it was followed by mere haathon main, Morni and kisi ke haath na aayegi yeh ladki. I'm so thankful to her for all these fond memories. My most favourite movies of her were Mr India (I have lost count on how many times I had seen it) and Sadma which I think is her best and most iconic performance ever but I would always avoid watching the end because it made me cry so bad 😭 I think because of all these memories that I have and growing up with them her loss feels so personal and heart breaking to me. I hope she is in a wonderful place right now.

I have watched quite a lot of her 80s/90s hindi movies. I guess I like Mr. India and English Vinglish the most. EV was special because it was pretty refreshing and fun, unlike most of the comeback vehichles of hindi film actresses.

She was such a brilliant actor, it's so difficult to think of any one performance which was a favourite.. EV has to be one of her most positive movies, and thus is one which touched me the most.. But her dance performances in most of her movies and her acting capabilities in chaalbaaz through Laadla make her shine in any kind of role..
