I agree with most, it was to seal the rift between Arjun - Rakesh and sameer and them being the biggest hurdle in sameer- Naina's love story

Sameer may win over arjun by helping him win the match just like typical indian super bahu. But rakesh ka toh mushkil hai.
How much hatred should one have for burning the hand of a 17year old. He calls himself a teacher. what did sameer do to earn this much hatred from him.
