I prefer today's films to 80s and 90s.
They were vulgar. Madhuri, Juhi Anil. kapoor king of vulgarity. Doing vulgar moves. Govinda pelvic thrusts, karisma, sarkailo khatiya. No no. Today's movies better.

Potboiler movies.

Maybe somewhere I missing the purity of the romance that was seen during those days. But content wise the current movies are much better. (Except for the romantic movies..they are all shit) I won't say that the songs were better either. There were some really shitty songs back then.i mean sar kai lo khatiya what the hell waa that. What I actually miss are the singers. I think BW has stopped respecting talent, be it actors or singers or music directors and that's why it's going down the drain. There was something special and magical with each of those actors and singers, something that defines them and made them different from the rest. Now it's become a money making business governed by idiotic powerhouses and that's why I fail to connect. Everything sounds and feels the same.

I kinda disagree & agree.

The songs were amazing. But not so the movies.. even iconic movies like Saajan had a horrible & unrealistic ending. Or women-centric movies like Laadla of Sridevi had a regressive ending & i go on & on.

But one thing's for sure, even with the flaws, they had repeat value. Nowadays most movies lacks any repeat value barring few. & music is certainly trash.

You mean you dont enjoy the movies of 90s and 2000s anymore? They dont have repeat value for you? And I dont mean Govinda movies, those were trashy as hell but generally the romantic/ social dramas of the 90s and the evolving movies of 2000s still can be watched over and over again

80s movies were really horrible, 70s had the advent of Bachchan, 60s were also entertaining, with good actors and beautiful heroines.
80s were the worst decade I think, absolutely Horrible movies

90s BW movies were high repeat value for me. But if I compare that to South movies many are utter crap in terms of content and music. The 90s saw the rise of AR Rahman so the music is definitely superior and you had movies like Roja and Bombay for instance. So other than nostalgia which is tied to a pair of actors I love I am unable to connect to movies of BW of the 90s . KJO was one of the greats that debuted in BW during that decade, enough said. 🤔

I meant ARR debuted in the South. He debuted in a Tamil movie Roja. The Tamil version of this song was his first ever and it was in the 90s.

He is the Arjun Kapoor of 90s for me. i never get Arjun or got Govinda. He is just 👎🏼 all that is wrong with the 90s for me, sorry @iambest.

Just brutal. 😆
