Aamir is a brand...no doubt in that
But i guess the credit for this goes to his incredible India campaign n his star plus show satyamev jayate
See we all know that he is a great actor , he has a great sense of choosing scripts n that's a plus point n m not taking away it from him but apart from that somewhere i still feel that incredible India campaign did wonders for him...doing an advertisement is a different thing but if u r doing something for ur nation is a different thing woh sirf advt nhi tha that was more like a campaign n then he did satyamev jayate
So from my POV tabhi public ne jada connect kiya aamir ke sath

What else should he do now ?? He is an actor and he is not supposed to write a script and direct himself. Of course, there are other ppl involved but its purely because of aamir that the movies collects crazily.

Lets take these examples to highlight Brand Aamir

1. Ghajini was an extremely simple story and had nothing so special about it. But Aamir, with his fantastic acting (in both his versions) convert it into a blockbuster.

2. Dhoom 3 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen with a logic that - If a bank asks for repayment of the loan, it should be destroyed !! But again it was Aamir's persona that made the movie a blockbuster.

3. Dangal was very simple movie and had very less screen space for Aamir himself but he converted that too into an ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER. Also, he was the Producer of the film, So at least for this, we can rightly say ke " kya movie banayi hai AAMIR NE !!"

So whatever u say, its the BRAND AAMIR which makes the movies blockbuster and that brand is purely based on his superb acting and brilliant script sense !!

Aamir doesn't just select good scripts. It's a misconception that a good script is enough to make a good movie. Every movie looks like a Blockbuster on paper, you can't say that any particular movie will Flop just by looking at the script. Every actor thinks that his movie will be successful when he/she signs it. But movie making is a complicated process, and things can easily go haywire. A good movie also needs good direction, acting, cinematography, dialogues, editing, production values, sound design, art direction, background score. Anything goes wrong, and the movie might end up looking like a mess. Aamir has a great knowledge of filmmaking, and he has the influence in each technical department of his movies. He also works behind the camera, and that's why takes he takes so much time in making a movie.
Other Superstars also influence with the vision of the director, but that makes the movie worse unlike Aamir.

His talent , efforts and belief is always discounted saying that the movies were good and others were responsible for them..why is he discredited for his vision and his belief in those movies?

yeah it's not luck by chance...He has worked hard to achieve it...He has seen ups and downs while doing so...He used to work in theatre...From there he got his first role and was assistant to Ketan Mehta in Holi and many short films which he did post that as an assistant director, cameraman,editor...He lost the lead role to Ashutosh in Holi bcoz he had shaved his head...Even in Raakh he had assisted the dir...Post QSQT success he had signed some 8-10 films...most of them flopped except Dil and few of them like JJWS and AAA were delayed...He knw way before that those films won't work as they were bad films...While shooting in the 5th day of shoot he knw that it was turning out to be bad, where did he land in,why did he sign them? 😆 It was the result of his signing those films just with the basic idea which interested him with no complete script...those days BW was a lot more disorganized...in some cases they used to change the storyline, sometimes even the chars, write scenes on sets...It was a result of all this that he demanded bound script in the mid 90's and did less movies and used to actively be part of each and every aspect of filmmaking...
He never used to force them with his suggestions...Few of them didn't pay heed to his suggestions and had success like Rangeela and few had terrible films like ATHA,Mann,Mela...In Rangeela he told the dir that the climax was flawed...it didn't make sense...
Though in the recent films like Dangal,SS he was not present on the sets while the shooting of other actors was going on...There is a lot more that goes into making of the films and he looks into diff aspects of filmmaking..
