Uncertain Affection
Next morning Geet left her house for gathering herbs for her father. She went to her usual place when she heard a noise and what she saw thereafter made her eyes widen in shock. Maan, Yash and Aditya were chased by the village girls and Pari leading them ready to hit them. Geet knew she had to interfere specially knowing Pari's temper. "Arey ruko ruko , kya hua tum sab aise kyun inhe maarne ke liye dauda rahe ho, She asked stopping the girls. "Geet ji humein bacha lijiye, ye ladkiyan pagal hain, Maan said. "Oye Geet tu hat saamne se aaj to main iska sir tod ke rahungi, Pari said pointing at Yash ready to pounce at him. "Ruk ruk Pari bol to hua kya, She asked trying to calm her friend down who was seething in anger like a raging bull. "Isne meri photo kheenchi, She said pointing at Yash.
Now Geet turned to the boys who were already cursing Yash for his foolishness. "Maan ji kya ye sach bol rahi hai, She spoke eying him waiting for an answer. "Ji wo..., before he could complete Geet got her chance and bombarded the poor guy with accusations without any fault of his, "Maine kabhi nahi socha tha aap aise hain ...Kahin aapne meri photo bhi to nahi kheenchi ...Haww Maan ji ...aap ...,She turned her face pretending to be angry while smiling inwardly.
"Par Geet ji Yash ne Pari ji ki photo kheenchi maine nahi sachii, He pouted looking at Yash disapprovingly. "Haan Geet, ye to is ullu ko rok rahe the tu inpe kyun gussa ho rahi hai, Pari seconded Maan feeling bad for him. "To kya hua, aaj inke dost ne kiya kal ye karenge, humein ye sab chal ke Guruji to batana hoga, chalo , Geet said to the girls who nodded. "Arey nahi nahi mujhe maaf kar do ye lo tumhari photo hata di ab theek, bas Guruji ko mat batana, Yash pleaded. "Hmm...theek hai aaj ke liye maaf kiya par dobara kiya to isi ghade(pot) se marungi, Pari warned. They nodded and left the scene not wanting to make the girls more angry. "Aaj teri wajah se hum maar khate khate bache, Adi chided Yash. "Par maine kiya hi kya tha..., Yash tried to put his point but was stopped by the glares of the other two. "Aur dekh teri wajah se Geet ji bhi mujhe galat samajhti, Maan cribbed. "Tujhe badi chinta hai Geet ki soch ki ..., Yash teased. "Kyunki wo meri mitra (friend) hain, Maan spoke in his defense. "Acha chalo bas karo tum dono ab hum wapas chalte hain Guruji pareshan ho rahe honge, Adi spoke putting an end to all the commotion.
Dadi and Dev on the other hand packed their bags go to Rishikesh. Dev's summer vacations were starting so both were packing. Dadima got the call from Geet's parents who gave their consent for the alliance. "Dadima, where will we stay and what if bro runs again seeing us there, Dev asked. "We will stay at a house near your would be sister in law's house, and we will keep an eye on your stupid brother, Dadima told him. "Did you make any friends at school dear, She asked caressing his head. "Yes Dadima, there was Meera at first but now I got a whole new group of friends, Dev said happily. Dadima was relieved hearing that, at least saving one of her grandsons from that stupid trait of being a sage. She always took Maan's case lightly but here that boy just ran away.
Geet returned to her house and narrated all the incidents to her dad and both had a good laugh. "Papa aapko dekhna chahiye tha jab Pari ne unke mitra ko peetne ki dhamki di ...kitna maza aa raha tha, She laughed.
"Acha beta tum khana kha lo aur main Maaji se baat kar leta hoon wo log do teen din mein yahan aa rahe hain. Tum bhi mil lena, Her father told her. She was done eating when she heard some sound outside her house, she looked out of her small window only to see Maan standing there. She was shocked but then she went out to meet him wanting to know the reason for his presence at this hour. Maan, on the other hand actually thought that Geet might not talk to him after witnessing the incident today, so he was here to see her with an alibi to give her the herbs his Guruji sent to her father but he was still hesitant to knock the door but before he did Geet opened it and asked, "Maan ji aap yahan. "G..Geet ji , woh main ye dene aaya tha, He stammered forwarding a parcel to her. "Ye kya hai, She asked.
"Ye Guruji ne diya hai aapke pitaji ke liye, ismein jadi butiyan (herbs) hain, He told. Geet accepted it and was going back when he asked, "Geetji, kya aap ab bhi naaraz hain. His sentence made her smile inwardly, but she turned around and looked at him with a serious face, "Aapko kya lagta hai. "Ji wo mera idea nahi tha sach, He pouted. "Yash, aapki saheli ko pasand karta hai, maine to mana bhi kiya par ...please mujhe galat mat samajhiyega, He spoke earnestly with a hopeful look on his face.
"Maan ji insaan ki pehchaan uske doston se hoti hai...aur aapke dost ne meri saheli ki photo kheench ke sahi nahi kiya...wo Pari ko pasand karte hain to us se baat karne ki koshish karte ..., She said but again she heard Maan clarify, "Par sach mein maine usko rokne ki koshish ki thi ...aur tab tak aapko to pata hai kya hua...dekhiye aap bhi meri dost hain na to is baar maaf kar dijiye...ye lijiye ye main aapke liye laya hoon, Saying this he forwarded her a parcel of custard apples. Geet was surprised to see the whole bunch, "Ye kis liye. "Taki aap maaf kar dein mujhe, He said making Geet to finally lose control and burst into laughter. "Main to mazak kar rahi thi Maan ji, She spoke still laughing.
"Aap naraz nahi thi, He asked to confirm. "Nahi, Maan ji dost ek dusre se mazak bhi karte hain chaliye iske liye dhanyavad ab aap jaiye hum kal milenge, She smiled. Maan nodded happy that she is not angry but went home wondering why was he so worried if she was really angry, they have been friends only for a few days but his mind couldn't conjure a positive answer. While Geet smiled looking at the custard apples he bought, happy to see his genuine concern and sincerity. Both were happy for their own different reasons waiting for a new dawn.

Note - I'm going to shift both my Rom Coms this and My Love Story on blog owing to the less response I'm getting ...I have to complete my stories before leaving so will do so...before I leave permanently by Mid May or April
