This is my first post in this forum. I love this show. And I had to make a post after today's episode. Please bare with me as this post can be a long one.
I felt really bad for Diya today. And lot of anger for Ratan. She was trying her best to make this marriage work. She was even ready to wear the cloths she was not comfortable with. And here is this self obsessed Man whose world just starts and ends at "ME". He did nothing till now for Diya or their marriage after marrying her.
I did sympathize with him till yesterday as I understood that he is confused, in state of shock and felt helpless as the repercussions of this actions (getting married) started to finally sink in. So, I didn't think much of his rude behavior to Diya on their 1st night together. But today, he was acting like a rich spoiled brat and a jerk. Forgetting completely that it was he who adamantly declared he would marry her by not paying heed to any of his well wishers words, including Diya. If anyone is to be blamed for his situation it is totally and completely 'HIM'.
Many felt Diya today was out of character but not me. Because this Diya is also part of the same Sherni we saw. Even though she is ferocious, we could always see her innocence at times when talking to Yash. She always expressed that she is weak in aspects like cooking, etc and felt she couldn't be a better wife. And now, suddenly she has a life which she never wanted and a husband she never dreamed of. She is pushed into a mess without her consent and everyone around her instead of trying to understand or sympathize with her, expect her to step up and clean it up all alone when even she is as confused and in shock as Ratan. And she being the good soul she is, is trying to do just that as she did when she stood alone and fought with everyone to fulfill her promise. She sacrificed 12 years of her life to keep someone she never saw or met safe and without any qualms. Now that is something no normal human can or will do.
She is the kind of person who gives her 100% to anything she puts her mind to. For a 18 year old girl to walk out on her family, to be hated by everyone around her, to handle a huge business and to fight a unknown enemy must have being very challenging and full of hardships. But she never complained or showed it off.
All the things that Ratan says that Diya lacks like being modern and fun. I would like to remind him that it is because she had to grow up early unlike him at a tender age to handle responsibilities. And, she never had time to think about herself or her life as she was busy keeping him safe. Diya was naughty and full of dreams at 18, it was these 12 years that changed her so much and snatched her chance to dream, experience things girls normally do at that age. To fulfill her promise she changed herself so much and now again, she is is trying her best to change herself to keep her parents who she feels had gone through a lot because of her, 'happy' by becoming a good DIL.
Hope CV's make Ratan get some sense and soon. If he feels his life is ruined it is because of his decision and not anyone else. And Diya, definitely deserves better treatment than how Choti Thakurani or he are treating her.
