I believe she did cross her line. For the first time KD was right and she wrong.

For the first time every word spoken by KD, Manish and Karthik was correct.

Naira has seen and felt hunger and so the empathetic chord struck her hard. She must have difinitely given the goods to the needy but that decision needed to be taken place at the house and not in the temple where she simply frisked away with the truck with complete authority without telling anyone.

As Manish ji said they were so rich that both things could have taken place simultaneously - give the donations in the temple as well as feed the needy. There was no need for Naira to go to that extreme.

However right the thought is , you cannot ask a 70 year old woman to leave her old beliefs and now suddenly follow her and if that has to happen, it will happen gradually , you cannot expect them to change overnight. As KD said - "She is forcing her desires on people and this is not correct."

Today's action was really uncalled for and definitely insulting
Naira was wrong .

Agree.. nairas intent may be right but her action was definitely wrong .. had she asked for donation at ashram no one would have said no.. but taking things into control for whatever may be the reason was wromg totally..

Exactly my thoughts. Naira wants to be mahaan. Her intentions weren't wrong but her way was wrong. She should have convinced dadi and family about donating to poor children rather than taking away stuff and arguing later on.

I disagree here...not that Naira can never be wrong...she has been wrong several times previously...but this time the message given by her character wasn't wrong...God don't need trucks of charhawey...what's the point in giving God back what he has given u? There are several several people who die of hunger...who are underprivileged who could be helped...most of all the things given this way get wasted...that could be utilized for helping someone...most of all that charhawa is given to boost off the wealth and status...which is wrong...

Taking that truck away without informing anyone was wrong...but the message wasn't wrong...

I absolutely agree with you. Naira could have explained that the act of showering wealth on god in the name of worship, the same wealth god him/herself has bestowed on humans, instead of donating it to the needy is wrong, as god does not need all this wealth, but the almighty would love that the very wealth they have given to their worshipers was being used to help the needy, yet you have people giving that wealth as offerings to god. But instead the writers clearly wanted to make naira look mahaan so they made her do off with the truck all by herself, instead of actually convincing the family first. It made zero sense.

I never said her intentions were wrong. I said her path was wrong. The conversation which took place after she had disposed the goods should have taken place before they left for temple.

Naira is acting like an authoritative figure here.
In.our hindu families when we give donations to temple it is not for the temple or the priest but for the charity activities they conduct. The priest bashing and hindu ritual bashing by other religions and some extremely sickular people like naira in the society ignores the fact that we don't actually waste milk by doing abhishek. We dilute milk a lot before pouring it on the idol and that is very small amount, remaining milk is used to.make prasad that is distributed among devotees.
Ever heard of meals organised by temples for destitute and delinquent people? Ever heard of temple trusts running hospitals and schools and.employing 1000s of people ??
If u weren't busy doing hindu ritual.bashing u would have definitely seen it. What they showed in PK or what they showed in any other movies that.mocked our rituals is half baked knowledge of people from other religions making movies.

As it is goenkas are rich enough to do send goods to both temple and naira's ashram. Other than uttering pages and pages of dialogues about her suffering i haven't seen naira do.anything for ashram..it's always either singhaniya elders or goenka elders talking about sending things to ashram .also naira has no right to interfere in everybody's faith. If dadi believes in something let her believe. U are.independent enough to send gifts or food with ur money or ur husband's money .

Yes Naira's way of going off with the offerings without consulting or informing is definitely wrong!
Manish did make a good point that they have enough to do both but the fact remains that food would still go waste! It's not about offering a little charity and going to bed in peace but also about valuing food!

Besides it is a sad reality in many temples! I won't generalise and say all but yes such wastages are a fact. Besides this entire episode was to create awareness among the audience I believe where everybody got to keep their points, I am not saying this will stop people from making food offerings or change mindsets etc but if it's going to make even one or two people rethink about all this then that in itself would be a milestone I guess!

Also the important point stressed here is not about going against any religion but also on how we dig a grave for ourselves economically. Naira mentioned today that we increase the prices for such commodities by increasing their demand and make it unaffordable for many and ourselves at some point of time. So Manish's we can afford point is automatically vetoed.

I feel that in this situation Naira was neither right or wrong but acted ambiguously according to what needed more importance.

I agree with your point that the episode was to create awareness among the masses about the wastage of food. The common place where we offer charity , which becomes rich but everybody doesn't get the benefit of it. How commodities become costly due to our usage.

But there is a way of saying things. The conversation which took place later , should have taken place before they left for the temple.

Stating that we should find different charity places and not go with the common ones is also fine but how do you do that. Nobody has so much of time to go outskirts and look for them, so wherever they find, they try and contribute.

Demand and Supply relation was brought out but they cleverly avoided that these takes place only during occassions and not everyday. During festivals itself we see wastage otherwise we don't do such grand wastage.

Expecting people to change overnight is not going to happen, it happens gradually and for that one needs to work upon regularly bit by bit rather than disapproving their method of work at a go.
