The OS is timelined to the current scenario when Sameer is coming daily to her home to take care of Arjun and Pooja's wedding is round the corner. Unintentionally Preeti has come to know about their relation when Sameer confessed his love thinking her to be Naina. Preeti being a smart girl who was quick to see true love in his eyes...so she teamed up with Sameer so that she could help him in manaoing Naina soon.

Sameer was slightly getting impatient as all his efforts were making no difference to Naina. She always thought that he was doing everything for himself and he didn't actually mean what he was saying and doing. She related everything to be some sort of a bet for him which he wants to win. She was totally oblivious to his efforts and he was upset more because of this rather than by the constant humiliation and torture by Rakesh and Arjun. Entire family was against him except Preeti and Arjun and Rakesh were the ones who were making sure that he has the toughest time of his life in this house. He wasn't able to understand what he shall do which touches her heart. He was standing in the balcony as just few minutes back Naina had again fired him with her piercing words of being selfish and not understanding what emotions and feelings are. Somewhere he was kind of losing out ... he was worried what would happen if he is not able to convince her of his love...what if he has to go to Delhi as his step father had told him in case he does anything wrong now...he was getting a bit anxious now. Just then Preeti came there and saw him standing quiet. She immediately understood whats wrong with him.

Preeti: kya baat hai Jijaji... Abhi se haar maan li?

Sameer: kya karu Preeti...Naina hai ki kuchh bhi sunne ke liye tayaar hi nahi hai...main kuchh bhi karu...use galat hi lagta hai...

Preeti: arey main use bahut achhe se jaanti hu... who itni aasani se nahi maanegi...bahut ziddi hai... ab aap hi socho...apne Papa ke kuchh gun (qualities) to aayenge na... in baaton mein wo bilkul unpar gayi hai...

Sameer: haan wo to hai...wo aur uska bhai...dono hi ek jaise hain gusse karne mein...waise tum mein aur usme kitna fark hai... tumne use kitni aasani se maaf kar diya aur wo hai ki use meri koi fikr hi nahi rahi ab...

Preeti: wo gusse wali hai jaanti hu...par main uski aankhon mein padh sakti hu... wo ab bhi aapki fikr karti hai... uski aankhen batati hain ki wo aapko mann hi mann maaf kar chuki hai...par bolne se darti hai...

Sameer: par main kya karu ki wo mujhe maaf kar de...

Preeti: ek idea hai...aap use uski favourite cheez use gift kar do... wo khush ho jayegi aur aap ko maaf kar degi...

Sameer: itna aasan nahi hai Preeti... mujhe nahi lagta ki wo maanegi...

Preeti : aap try to karo ...

Sameer: par kya hai uski favourite cheez?

Preeti (thinking): hmm use na chocolates bahut pasand hai... hum dono mein na humesha chocolates ko lekar ladayi ho jaati thi... Papa aur Mummy hume zyaada chocolates khaane nahi dete...par aaj bhi jab wo chocolate khaati hai... to aur sab kuchh bhool jaati hai...uski sabse zyada favourite cheez hai... aap use chocolate dekar manane ki koshish karo...

Sameer: aisi baat hai... ab to main yeh hi karunga...kya pata isse hi woh maan jaye... thank you... Preeti... tumne yeh idea dekar meri bahut badi help ki hai...bas ab dua karo ki wo accept kar le mera gift...

Preeti: are Jijaji fikar not...main aapke saath hu... dekhte hain kaise nahi maanti...wo abhi mujhe aur aapko nahi jaanti...

Naina came to the balcony and saw them talking. She was apprehensive whenever she saw Preeti and Sameer together as she was very well aware of Preeti's nature and Sameer too...both of them together means some plan definitely is cooking up... Ab yeh dono kya nahi khichdi paka rahe hain...she thought.

Naina: Preeti tu yahan gappe lada rahi hai... wahan tujhe Chachiji bula rahi hain...kitne saare kaam hain...chal yahan se... bahar waalon ke saath zyada baat karne ki zaroorat nahi hai... and she gave a stare to her and Sameer smiled to see that.

She pulled Preeti with her and Sameer thought that he would definitely try out this idea suggested by her hone waali saali saahiba and gift her chocolates... "Sameer beta ab agar tujhe is behenji ka gussa shaant karna hai to kal bahut saari chocolates ka intezaam kar le... Ek baar uska gussa shaant ho gaya fir wo tere pyar ko zaroor samjhegi...chal ab lag ja kaam pe.... He thought and got on with his work for the day.

Next day was a working day and so all of them went to the school. Naina was surprised to see Sameer before her in school today. He was sitting with Munna and Pandit when she entered the class. He tried not to look at her as she always got angry when he looked towards her...but he stealed a glance at her when she was sitting on her seat and smiled to himself. She tried keeping her bag under the table in the desk but she wasn't able to put her bag inside...she pushed it again...but she felt as if something was inside which was preventing her bag from going inside. She pulled her bag out and ran her hand inside the desk to see what it was... she saw a box kept there and she took it out... It was a box which had six Amul chocolates wrapped beautifully with ribbon... She looked here and there and saw Sameer staring at her...immediately she understood that he had brought the chocolates for her.

She was furious to see this and kept the box aside and when Swati came ...she saw the box of chocolates and asked who brought this... She told her that its for her and she could happily have it if she wants to accept gift from a stranger. Swati understood what was going on and as she too was in Preetis's side also wanted Naina to forgive him.

Swati: wo to theek hai Naina...par yahan stranger to koi nahi hai... fir yeh kaun laaya?

Naina: achha...tujhe nahi pata... Zyada ban mat aur chupchaap yeh wapas kar de... Agar tujhe rakhni hai to rakh le...mujhe nahi chahiye...samjhi...

Swati returned the chocolate box to Sameer as she couldn't keep anything which was given to Naina by Sameer. Munna and Pandit tried to take that box from him saying that they would love to have it for them but he snatched it back from them saying that it was only meant for her. Sameer knew she won't accept it so easily so he already had a back up plan in his mind. When Shanti teacher came inside the class ... Sameer told her that he had brought chocolates for the entire class and he wanted to distribute them to everyone. Naina knew he was trying to repeat the same trick which he did with the roses earlier. Shanti teacher asked him why was he distributing chocolates... to this he replied that he wanted to start the new day in school with sweetness... So that the entire day goes well for everyone...and what could be better than chocolates to bring sweetness in ones life? " In chocolates ki thodi si mithaas se dil ki kadvahat kuchh kam ho jaati hai he said.

Shanti teacher was impressed and he got the permission and as expected Naina had to accept the chocolate as she wanted no scene in front of the entire class. Sameer felt relieved to see her accept that and he smiled to her...but she was very irritated to see him smiling. During the lunch break, Preeti came to him and asked what happened to his plan? He told her what happened in the class and Preeti was happy to know this and both of them were laughing when he was describing her irritated looks. Just then Naina came there...

Naina: to kal tum dono yeh plan kar rahe the... ab samajh mein aaya... Preeti kya zaroorat thi tujhe ise yeh batane ki... yeh baat sirf mere apnon ko pata honi chahiye...bahar walon ko nahi...

Preeti: ab Jijaji bahar wale thodi hain... Wo to tere dil ke rajkumar hain... Isliye maine inhe bata diya... To maine galat kya kiya? Swati maine kuchh galat kiya ...tu bol...

Swati (who had also come there by then): nahi nahi...bilkul theek kiya... ab ise chocolates pasand hain...to hai... isme chhupane waali kya baat hai?

Naina: Preeti aur Swati bas karo tum dono... aur tum...yeh lo apni chocolate ... mujhe nahi chahiye... tum yeh mat samajhna ki tum mujhe chocolate doge to main tumhe maaf kar dungi...

Munna: yaar Sipahi itna bhi kathor mat ban...aye Pandit tu samjha na...

Naina was very angry and she pulled Preeti with her.

Preeti: par Naina sun to...

She banged the chocolate in his hand and left from there with Preeti and Swati... Sameer looked at her while she was leaving and Munna and Pandit were surprised to see him smiling. While going Preeti looked back and gave him a thumbs up signal and went back with Naina.

Pandit: yaar wo tujhe itna kuchh keh gayi tu abhi bhi muskura raha hai...

Sameer: haan yaar...kyunki main jaanta hu ki uska gussa jhoota hai... wo dil se ab bhi mujhse pyar karti hai...maine uske saath jo kiya uske saamne to yeh gussa kuchh bhi nahi...

Munna: itna vishwaas hai tujhe...sahi hai yaar... Waise ek baat kahu... Sipahi ke pyaar ne tujhe bilkul badal diya hai...kahan pehle tujhe har baat pe gussa aata tha...ab itna kuchh sunke bhi tu muskura raha hai...

Sameer: haan yaar... Is behenji ke dil ki maasoomiyat ne mujhe badal diya...mujh jaise ladke se itna pyar kiya isne...aur maine kya kiya...par ab main hi sab theek karunga... aaj wo yeh tohfa accept karegi... zaroor karegi.

Both of them were very happy to see his determination and were waiting for the moment when she forgives him. The school ended for the day and all the students went back home. Sameer too came to Naina's home and saw her sitting with all the family members. Taiji saw a big box in his hands.

Taiji: O bai Bholuram...yeh kya hai tumhare haath mein?

Naina: Chachiji pehle isse poocho ki yeh aaj late kyun aaya hai?

Taiji: tu bhi bilkul apne baap jaisi hoti jaa rahi hai... bechara Bholuram school se thak gaya hoga...thoda late ho gaya to kaun sa pahad toot pada?

Sameer: Taiji wo na main aaj sab ke liye chocolates laya hu...bas inhe hi pack karne mein thoda late ho gaya...sab ka muh meetha karana chahta hu...

Taiji: koi baat nahi ... Tum aao...baitho yahan...Naina jaa Bholuram ke liye paani la...and she had to do as told to her.

Chachiji: Bhagwan jhooth na bulaye chocolate to bachhe khate hain...hum bade chocolate thode hi khate hain... tum bhi na...

Taiji: ne va...bhool gayi Bela...jab tu shaadi kar ke aayi thi...aur devar ji tere liye chocolate laate the... Kaise tu chhup chhup ke chocolate khaya karti thi... Aaj jab Bholuram laya hai to khaane mein kya hai...itne nakhre dikha rahi hai...ab itne pyar se laaya hai...to sab ko lena hi padega...

Sameer heard this and looked at Preeti and both of them winked to each other...Naina saw this and nodded her head looking at Preeti in disappointment. Sameer starting giving chocolates to everyone and when he came to Naina... she didn't take it from him... Sameer looked at Preeti and she immediately spoke up...Taiji dekho na...Naina le hi nahi rahi hai

Taiji: kyun maharani...waise to tujhe yeh sab bahut pasand hai...aaj kya hua? Ab yeh itne pyar se de raha hai to le le na... kab samjhegi tu...pyar se diya hua tohfe ko mana nahi karte...

Naina (mumbled): kaisa pyar ...sab sirf dikhava hai...

Chachiji: haan beta Naina le na...dekh kitni achhi chocolate laya hai...

Naina had to take it and after this she angrily went inside... Taiji and Chachiji went for shopping for Pooja's dresses and so they took her also along with them. They advised Sameer to give lunch to Arjun when he wakes up as he was sleeping inside so only these 3 were effectively left at home. Preeti looked at Sameer and saw his sad face and went inside their room and locked the door from inside.

Preeti: teri problem kya hai? wo sab ke liye chocolates lekar aaya is baat pe gussa hai kya? Wo pehle to tere liye hi laya tha na... tujhe usme bhi problem thi...ab sab ke liye laya usme bhi problem hai... tu chahti kya hai?

Naina: main kuchh nahi chahti...main bas chahti hu ki woh mujhse door rahe... meri zindagi se door chala jaye...aur kuchh nahi chahti main...main bas uska chehra dekhna nahi chahti...

Preeti: sach mein tu aisa chahti hai...haan ...bol... Naina tu kis se jhooth bolne ki koshish kar rahi hai... mujhse... apni aankhon to khud nahi padh sakti par main padh sakti hu... Inme saaf saaf dikhta hai ki tu ab bhi usse pyar karti hai... fir bhaav kyun kha rahi hai...agar tu sach mein chahti ki wo teri zindagi se chala jaye to kab ka use maaf kar chuki hoti...

Naina: main usse koi pyar vyar nahi karti... wo meri zindagi ki sab se badi galti hai...

Preeti : achha... sach mein... Naina kya ho gaya hai tujhe... apne dil mein jhaank ke dekh... galti usne ki aur uske liye wo maafi bhi maang raha hai...humare ghar mein naukar jaise kaam kar raha hai... galti sudharne ka ek mauka to har kisi ko milna chahiye na... aur aise to tu ne bhi mujhse chhupa kar galti ki hai...ab main bhi tujhse rishta tod du... mera dil bhi tu ne dukhaya mujhe paraya kar ke... agar main bhi wohi karu jo tu uske saath kar rahi hai...bata kaisa lagega tujhe?

Naina: Preeti tu uski side le rahi hai? (she had tears in her eyes)

Preeti: haan kyunki main jaanti hu ki wo sach mein koshish kar raha hai tera dil jeetne ki... Par shayad tu sach mein apne Papa ki beti hai...jo kisi ko maaf karna hi nahi jaanti...ab main bhi tujhe maaf nahi karungi...ab tu kabhi mujhse baat mat karna... aaj se tera aur mera rishta khatam...samjhi tu... tu reh akeli...apne gusse ke saath...aur main use bol deti hu...ki chala jaye yahan se... uske liye duniya mein ladkiyon ki kami nahi hai... wo chala jayega tab to tujhe shaanti mil jayegi na... to theek hai ab wo aur main hum dono nahi rahenge teri life mein...tu akele hi to rehna chahti hai...

Naina held her hand when Preeti tried to leave from there. She pleaded her to forgive her and that she was really sorry for hiding everything from her...she couldn't see her angry and she started crying. She was really feeling sorry for hiding everything from her.

Preeti: dekha Naina ...kaisa lagta hai jab koi maaf na kare khaas kar tab jab wo maafi tumhare liye sab se important ho... Wo bhi aise hi tadap raha hai teri maafi ke liye...waise ...agar tu ne decide kar hi liya hai ki tu Jijaji ko maaf nahi karne wali to main try kar lu unke liye...unse zyada handsome ladka to mujhe chirag lekar dhoondne se bhi nahi milega,...aur yeh chocolate tu mujhe de de... Jijaji ne tere liye kuchh diya tha...woh wahan rakha hai...Tu chahe to wo le sakti hai...yeh mere liye hai... aur main tujhe yeh nahi dene wali. (Preeti was back to her normal self)

Naina: Preeti tu bhi na... she patted her shoulder and Preeti wiped her tears and went out with the chocolate in her hand.

Naina saw the gift pack kept on her table...and opened it... It had various kinds of chocolates along with some imported ones. She had a smile on her face to see so many chocolates... Preeti's words echoed in her ears constantly and she realised her mistake...she felt as if she too had committed a similar mistake when she hid everything about Sameer from Preeti while she was the one with whom she had shared everything since childhood... She has been more than her sister to her... she always stood up for her in times of need and she must have felt cheated by her...as she was feeling cheated by Sameer. But she had forgiven her so easily and she was lucky to have a sister like her... Naina felt sorry for Preeti today at heart. Somewhere at heart she started thinking...whether Preeti was right...was she also becoming ruthless as her father? Whether she was more angry on Sameer or herself...she wasn't able to decide. But Preeti's words definitely had an effect on her today as if she was shown the mirror to her heart by Preeti.

Naina saw a note in that gift pack in which Sameer had mentioned about his truth that he had realised about her true love much before the bet revelations and he was himself coming to tell her everything but the situation took a turn and she came to know everything before he himself could tell her. He wrote that he had no proof of this truth...it was just upto her to believe whether this was true or not. He also wrote ...

Naina main tumhare liye hi yeh sab chocolates laya hu... yeh imported chocolates Nanu mere liye laye the Switzerland se... main tumhare chehre pe sirf khushi dekhna chahta hu... aur kuchh nahi chahiye mujhe...ummeed hai tum ise accept karogi... tum mujhe maaf karo ya nahi... mujhe poora vishwas hai ki tumhe yeh bahut pasand aayengi... mujhe pata chala tumhe chocolates bahut pasand hain to main sab tumhare liye le aaya...kyunki main tumhe khush dekhna chahta hu. Agar tum chahti ho ki main tumhari zindagi se door chala jaaun to main chala jaaunga...dobara kabhi apna chehra tumhe nahi dikhaaunga... Promise karta hu...tumhare faisle ka intezaar karta ... Sameer...jo kabhi tumhara pyaar hua karta tha. '

Naina had a smile on her face and also a fear of losing him once again if he goes away from her crowded her mind. She decided to forgive him at heart and would give him time to prove his love for her once again. She wanted to be doubly sure before she accepted him as her love this time. But not being able to resist herself... she opened and started eating a chocolate.

Preeti went outside and found Sameer standing outside the room ...desperately waiting to know what happened inside.

Preeti: maine saara scene set kar diya...aap thodi der mein andar chale jaana ...aaj pakka maafi mil jayegi...Sameer was thankful to her for her support and help.

She was lost in the taste of the delicious chocolate and had a smile on her face when Sameer entered inside... she was surprised to see him there and he was very happy to see her having the chocolate he brought for her. She had a child like innocence on her face which made him realise that Preeti was right...she really loved chocolates and her smile gave him immense pleasure. Seeing him coming close to her, the smile on her face faded away and she became slightly nervous. He signalled to her that she had a chocolate stain on her cheek close to her lips...she tried to clean it but she could not make out the exact site where it was... he kept on trying to tell her by hand signals but she failed to judge. She was about to go towards the bathroom but he stopped her and stepped closer to her.

Naina looked here and there when she saw him coming closer and not knowing what was he up to...she stepped back slightly... "Tum kya kar rahe ho Sameer? She said...He kept on coming closer and she kept on moving back and his eyes was constantly looking at her... she couldn't meet the passion in his eyes that was all for her and she turned her eyes downwards and not knowing what was happening and what to do...her anxiety was clear on her face and her face flushed red...her heartbeats were racing now and she came to the wall and still he was moving closer... She closed her eyes in apprehension and she was finding it difficult to breathe even... she just prayed Preeti came there and helped her but understood that she won't come inside. But she didn't understand what he was up to... Has he forgotten that she always believed in masoom dosti between them.

Sameer came very close and looked at her...she was standing there with closed eyes and all her feelings and fear had come up on her face. He kept on staring her beautiful face for some time and for the first time he saw her so closely... She was beautiful...yes...she was indeed very beautiful...he thought... He bent down slightly and kept on staring at her lips that she was biting her lips in tension... the chocolate stain further enhanced her beauty... She looked ethereal and slowly he brought his hand close to her face. He understood the rush of emotions she was going through and he steadied his hand very close to her face. He knew that she won't like him touching her...he softly called out her name... "Naina.... and she hesitantly opened her eyes and saw him standing so close to her... his hand was held just marginally away from her face...he took out her handkerchief and cleaned the stain from her face and as he touched her face with his handkerchief...a current rushed through her and she closed her eyes...such was the effect of the touch of that handkerchief even which kind of melted her... all the blood seemed to collect on her face ...he smiled slightly at this sight of hers... he moved back a little and kept it back in his pocket while she felt weak on her legs and just felt all her feelings and emotions rush through her and he was enjoying her anxiety and apprehension...he calmed himself and just started laughing so as to ease the situation for her...she heard him laugh and opened her eyes and saw him standing at some distance and she was embarrassed at her imaginations she just had along with a relief that they didn't come true and confused at his laugh...all emotions at the same time were clear on her face.

Sameer: apna chehra to dekho... Poora laal ho gaya hai....

Naina didn't know what to say and she tried to take control of her emotions and she tried to breathe in and relax herself...

Sameer (stopped laughing): tumhe kya laga? Naina aisa kuchh tab tak nahi hoga jab tak tum nahi chahogi... Lekin mujhe yeh vishwas ho gaya ki tum ab bhi mujhse utna hi pyar karti ho... Mere se nazdeeki tum par asar karti hai...tumhare dil ki dhadkan badati hai...hai na... Naina mujhe pata hai ki mujhse bahut badi galti huyi hai... mujhe ek mauka de do... Main tumhara vishwas kabhi nahi todunga... Vaada karta hu... bas ek mauka de do... Please...

Naina stood there still and Sameer left the room saying that he would wait for her...and would not stop trying...she could take as much time she wanted. While he was leaving Preeti came inside and told him that Arjun was awake and he should give him lunch otherwise Tauji would be angry and he left. Preeti went to Naina who was standing still and shivering...Preeti saw her and hugged her and Naina cried her heart out ... she couldn't control her tears today which had a mix of sadness and happiness...Preeti understood what was going on in her mind and she moved her hand lovingly on her head. Naina accepted that she loved him a lot and still she does that but she was scared to give him a second chance...what if he betrayed her again? But Preeti asked her to forgive herself and him at heart first...only then she could think of accepting him as her lover again in her life...till the time she holds herself guilty for loving him... She won't be able to forgive him or love him...so first she needs to forgive herself.

Naina agreed and promised that she would try to do what she wants her to and Preeti was very happy to know this ...Naina seemed to be relieved today after this realisation that he definitely deserves a second chance...she shared some chocolates with her and Preeti wished that even in future there should be a day when the lovers can gift chocolates to the people they love and express their feelings for them. Little did she know that many years later a chocolate day would be celebrated all round the world and her wish would be fulfilled like this.

Naina went outside with Preeti and called him in isolation...offered him a chocolate... she said " tum meri maafi chahte the na... chalo main tumhe maaf karti hu... Tumne is maafi ke liye bahut kuchh kiya... Pehle mujhe tumhari koshishon par vishwas nahi tha... Lekin aaj Preeti ne mujhe meri galti ka ehsaas karaya... main tumhe maaf karti hu Sameer...Par yeh mat samajhna ki hum dono fir se dost itni aasani se ban sakte hain... Uske liye pehle mujhe vishwas hona chahiye ki tum mujhe dobara cheat nahi karoge... samjhe...

Sameer: thank you Naina... Aaj ka din mere liye bahut bada hai... main vaada karta hu ki tumhara vishwas kabhi nahi todunga...chahe kuchh bhi ho jaye... Tumhare vishwas mein shwas bankar humesha main tumhare saath rahunga...

Naina came out of her thoughts when the door bell rang and realised that she was recalling that day when he tried to get her forgiveness through the chocolates. So many years passed and while they are now married ...he never forgets to gift her chocolates on the chocolate day. Today again it was the same day but she didn't know whether he'll be able to gift her chocolates this time as he was out of town for a music concert. She went to the door and received a parcel... She opened it and was extremely happy to receive the chocolates which he had arranged for her before he left. Phone rang and she picked it up...as usual he played her favourite song from the other side...

'Tumse milkar na jaane kyun aur bhi kuchh yaad aata hai

Aaj ka apna pyar nahi hai janmon ka yeh naata hai...'

After this...Happy chocolate day my behenji...

Naina: tum nahi sudhroge na... aaj bhi tum mujhe (and smiled )...mujhe laga tum is baar bhool gaye...

Sameer: bhoolta kaise...vaada kiya tha to nibhana to padega...Sameer Maheshwari apna vaada kabhi nahi bhoolta... pata hai na Mrs Naina Maheshwari ko...

Naina (smiling): hmm... ab tum jaldi se wapas aa jaao...I'm missing you...

Sameer: haan...bahut jaldi aaunga... Bas yeh concert ka aaj last day hai... kal tak aa jaaunga...I love you Naina...

Naina: I love you too Sameer... Ab jab tum aaoge tab hum dono saath milke yeh chocolates share karenge... Theek hai... ab main phone rakhti hu...tum jaldi se aa jaao bas... Bye...

Sameer: bye my behenji... My love... Meet you soon.

Naina waited desperately for him to be back from the concert. She played a song which was her favourite one and she felt suited their own love story from the movie Dil to paagal hai...this song helped her to spend time when he was away from her.
