Instead if axing shows one fine day, Star Plus should then adopt a policy like the Pakisthani channel Hum TV, where shows run for only 23 to 24 episodes.The directors know it and the audience do so too.So the directors will frame the story accordingly.If anyone has seen Fawad Khan serials like Zindagi Gulzar Hain, Humsafar etc will get my point.

RKC is ending as if SP is literally chasing them off the channel.

TBH, I haven't seen Pak channels - I don't have access to them. But they sound like the old serials in DD where they had finite time span. U r right in saying. But what SP is doing is actually harakiri. I mean they call themselves progressive and they air all sorts of regressive content for months together and pull off decent serials.

The problem is even that won't work for SP. SP has had a multitude of finite series before. And they always end them earlier than they are supposed to. POW, Gulmohar Grand, Private Investigator are all examples.

Agree very much with TM. Indian serial makers must learn to tell a good story crisply. As more web series come in and competition from Amazon and Netflix with original programming comes in like in the US, things will change. TRP method cannot sustain, not in the age of DVR and smartphones and tablets.

At this point I don't know what star plus stands for anymore. it's Not nayi soch certainly. And its not quality content either. trps cannot be the only measure of success. Also its not always about giving theaudience more of the same but making the audience open up to New options. Come on SP show your spine and stand up for shows you believe in.
