But isn't it realistic? In real life we often take people who are here for granted whilst missing and having regrets about the people who are gone not realising that we should cherish the people who are still here. Our parents have done so much for us but we take them for granted and often get busy in our own lives. It doesn't mean we don't love them. We should do more and Avni should have done more but it doesn't mean she loved Neela any less or it's one sided. She would always remember Ayesha because she was gone the same way she'll now remember Neela. Can anyone honestly say that they do as much as their parents have done for them? If you don't then does it mean it's a one sided love and that you don't regard them as your parent? No.
It's kind of hard to expect a child to care for their parent the same way they cared for them because from childhood we're conditioned to receive love from our parents and to be protected and looked after by them. We're so used to taking that we forget that they need the same. We should do better but if everyone stated measuring love and relationships by what someone has done for the other then we'd never be good enough. I don't think there's anyway a child can ever give back the same that the parent has done for them because what they have done is so big so if we start start having this measuring mentality then we'll always fall short and people would accuse everyone of having a one sided relationship but thankfully that isn't the way the world works. We can only try our best.
I think it's also worth remembering how rocky Avni's life has been. She went from one crisis to another so didn't have much time to relax or go above and beyond for anyone. She was always busy solving problems. Yes in the middle of all of her problems Avni got busy and didn't pamper her mum but Neela knew the amount of respect and love Avni had in her heart for her. What she said Avni would listen to. Her word had the utmost importance for her. She was the only one Avni would truly hear and follow. She called her mum for a reason. She didn't have to but she saw her as a mum and if Neela ever needed Avni she knew Avni would be there for her just like she has for Avni and I think that means more than anything. Neela knew Avni loved her so much that she'd give her life for her if needed.They didn't get much time to enjoy and relax together but they were there through the ups and downs and there was a huge amount of love there through it all so does it really matter who did what for who when the love was clearly there?
I don't think it's fair to say that just because she wasn't Avni's real mum that Avni loved her less. Even biological children often take their parents for granted and get busy with their lives but does that mean they don't see them as their parents? Why do people judge adopted kids on a greater scale and use it to say they don't see the adopted parent in the same way when biological children are hardly perfect either?
Btw this isn't just at the OP because I know the OP was just talking about Avni taking her mum for granted but also at people doing the whole Avni, Ayesha and Neela comparison.
