IF conducted a poll on Twitter about Dira's marriage. Here is the link: https://twitter.com/indiaforums/status/959343305577435136
Basically, they're asking if Dira's marriage is against Indian norms. My one question is why such a poll is conducted only for Dira's marriage? Why didn't they conduct this poll when they showed much older men marrying young women on TV? What is wrong with an older woman marrying a younger man? Marriage is based on trust, love and understanding. What has age got to do with it? And why is it okay for a much older man to marry a younger women, but not the reverse?

It's sad to see that some people are still stuck in the regressive age. For me, I'm glad that RLHN is tackling this stereotype and I don't think it is against Indian norms. We have progressed and become more open-minded. RLHN fits in this culture.

Do share your views here and on Twitter as well, so that IF realises they're wrong about this!

There is a saying that "Mia Bivi ho raji to ka kare ga kazi" but socitey has problem with this saying.

After seeing that DiRa are really getting married I asked my mother why a man aged 30 can marry 18 year old girl but a 30 year old woman can not marry 21 year old guy? she replied that it was not realistic. Than I again asked why it was not realistic, she said they would suffer in the long run for the difference of their mentality. Than I said every couple suffer from that even because of that some leads to divorce, was it always the age issue? did't old man marrying young girl were never divorced? She said I won't understand. Than I said nothing because I really don't understand whats the problem and I believe if mia bibvi is raji to kya karega eya society.

You guys tell me what I don't understand.

Nia, u knw na prob with IF, they just can't shut their mouths..
Against norms... what norms are they talking about!! Is it written anywhere that a guy can't marry someone who's elder to him!!
Even law accepts their mrg as a legal one!! Both are majors.. they pretty well can take their life decisions..

First, I don't think its against Indian norms. I have heard of such instances where wife was older than husband. Second, this is so hypocritical. When a young girl is shown married to a much older guy, no one complains.
