Tampering cases with BARC samples-check out..

Check a latest article at below link..there may be many more un-registered BARC data tampering or bribing cases across India similar to the one being investigated by police. 🤔

Below is a reference to one of my earlier posts on this forum where I had shared details and analyzed about current BARC process and its loopholes.

Till entire sample household selection cum data collection becomes a transparent automatic process with no manual intervention or leakages, BARC data can't be blindly relied upon..😊

In that way BARC seems more matured and organized over TAM, has an independent council but yes any system that has left open manual interventions with less transparency will always provide scope for tampering's or bribing's that too in India. Hope BARC will fix it soon and automate their systems in a more robust manner with tightened data security as currently advertisers, broadcasters, service providers and producers councils have no other proven backup system to rely upon for weekly TRPs in India. 😳

There is nothing else as alternative today in India for measuring TV viewership..now that's the challenge..But yes, it may not be worth breaking heads every week over TRPs till their system becomes robust.

Reason I shared this article (which I accidentally bumped into while reading another article on same portal about DEN & Zee dispute and ongoing legal case) is mainly as a reference to indicate that BARC system has loopholes.

Have been specially noticing fandom wars on SM in recent times against channels/TV shows and have also been observing some ignorance on this subject as well. Its actually funny 😆 when you some times come across popular cast of few hindi daily shows urging their fans on SM to watch their shows on TV and thus help increase TRPs..😃 When in reality, its few thousands of selective sample TV households that BARC depends to measure weekly TRPs, and not those millions of TV watching Indian households and specially may not be those who are part of SM fan bases.😆

😆 😆 oops..so fast to stamp actors...

Seems BARC itself is planning to conduct training classes this year for industry people to clear their doubts on how their process works and what changes they are making..so don't worry on that front..😛 btw ignorance about a specific subject and smartness are not same..😊

Non-industry people like me can just sit back watch every week how circus around TRPs happens on SM till then..
