Those who were used to watching Bigg Boss 11 at 10.30 am, are now missing all the action. So, now we have Belan Wali Bahu, which is the replacement at the slot. It is the story of Roopa Awasthi, a clumsy housewife who is married to an agarbatti businessman. He is the husband of her deceased sister. She has the best intentions at heart but is just too clumsy. We also have a dysfunctional family with the parents-in-law, a slightly sleazy dadaji and others. The story is set in Agra and explores a typical joint family. Roopa, as a girl believes that the way to a man's heart is through the stomach.

What's hot?
Mushtaq Khan and Bhavna Balsaver are back on the show as a couple. The two veterans have the best comic timing on the show along with Sudhir Pandey. Dheeraj Sarna is also quite decent. Coming to Krystle D'Souza, it is tough for us to visualise the stunning actress as the middle-class Roopa dressed in printed georgette sarees. She is good in parts and falters in some. The actress does better in the emotional scenes. Let us see how she fares as the show progresses. The dialogues are pretty clean. The biggest takeaway is the fact that the show throws light on how the role of the average housewife is hugely undermined in a family, especially by husbands. Criticism flows freely without a thought for the sentiments of the other person. This makes it kind of relatable for everyone.

What's not?
The first episode did not have one single dialogue that made us truly crack up. Now, that is a huge let-down for a sitcom. Yes, there were lines that brought a few chuckles. The prolonged slapstick scenes made for tedious viewing after a while. The sets of the show also look very garish and caricaturist.

Verdict
It is a fresh concept and the makers deserve a round of applause for that. If you like shows like Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, you will not mind Belan Wali Bahu. Stay tuned to BL for more scoop and updates...

I also loved it, specially the ajwain part and the train part, hilarious. Even in the second episode when the tailor was taking measurements, and roopa's clumsiness 👏 👏
