Interesting point is both took a calculated risks and in both cases, they misfired.
Diya took the risk of the engagement and resultant attack on herself to shift the target of attacks to herself and smoke the traitor out.
It backfired royally.
And Choti Thakrani sa took the risk of getting the real papers in Diya's name. She assumed that Diya will care for her reputation more.
This backfired too. However, she should have realized that Diya is "Yoddha" (warrior) but not a "Shadeed" (Martyr).
Like in the scene Diya chose be called not warrior enough over her duty to protect Ratan.
It is interesting to see a FL who is not worried about making tough choices. She is proud of her heritage but is clear about her duty too. Her duty is not to show valour but to keep Ratan Safe.
She does not put her own reputation above his safety. Neither her reputation as a woman or as a warrior.
An extremely well written character so far.
