This show lacks emotional sensitivity!

Well I have always felt this but today was kinda the last nail in the coffin! It's pretty annoying to have an Indian show which lacks the basic emotional sensitivity of life. I would rather expect makers to encash on it but Ek Deewaana Tha is some other kind of cold heartedness. So we had so many major events in the show. A suicide, A rape and a Murder but all the characters seem to lack the emotional intelligence to tackle such sensitive subjects. Leave alone dramatisation even deserved value is not given at times.

I was so annoyed when they showed Sharanya actually being all sacrificial and broke when Vyom committed suicide. LIke what the hell woman? You had such a strong opinion before this. You knew what you wanted to do or how you wanted to take your relationship forward but one act of cowardness by a guy and you become a pawn to it. So in a way saying that the best way to make things work your way is commit suicide. It was so intolerable to have Sharanya not even once bash Vyom for pulling such a stunt. I wonder if any modern day woman would like to marry a guy who so emotionally blackmails her to stay with him so bad. And leave that how can a girl's parents force their daughter to get married to such a guy or a family where every now and then the FIL is physically abusing the MIL and no one actually says anything!

Then let's come to the molestation sequence. We still don't know who did it but whoever did, the thing was aghast and brutal. Yet no one really f**king cares what happened with Sharanya. The parents get no idea watching the girl sweating. The girl in fact is herself sleeping asound on the very day a molestation was attempted on her. That's just so disturbing to say the least!

Then they do a wedding without the girl's father! Like seriously? Okay even if the wedding was necessary even the reception!!! The father is missing...he is untrackable and still the family is busy enjoying. I have no f**king clue how in the world?

And to top it all what has been happening in the show since the past week is totally disgusting. A father has died, no murdered! The body is not yet returned from post mortem and the daughter is moving around all decked up in flashy sarees. She is smiling and romancing with her husband as if nothing happened. She goes to her mom's house for mourning and wears all that makeup. LIke what? Logic has vanished into thin air.

I wonder if Prateek Sharma forgot to put the needed emotional intelligence in his show. But all this is too illogical and unrelatable. It's impossible to connect to Sharanya's suffering seeing how dumb she acts and sounds. She is like this time I will reach the person (Vidyut) before you to Shiv...and I feel like rofling 😆 Are you even hearing what you utter girl? You are saying that about a spirit. Rather than taking the help of of a mediator to understand the spirit's intentions or asking your family about your past you utter such senseless dialogues.

Word to everything,Malika!
This thought came into my mind today and I'm glad you said it! 😊
Which girl returns to her Sasural after seeing her father's dead body at her reception? Didn't her family need her at that time?
In the morning Vyom is telling her and Rajan that he is taking her to her parent's home as if he is doing a big deed! Sharanya nodding her head in yes and Rajan "Good"
I was like WTH???

Don't come to the dialogues they use to challenge Shiv! As if previous episode wasn't enough!
Even Vyom said today "Jisne humari khushiyan cheeni hai hum uski cheenenge " about a spirit!
Are you serious????

you totally spoke what i felt. Sharanya is being dumb. when sharanya doesnt catch the hints by shiv, i sometimes feel does she even want to be saved?😕 i had same thoughts regarding the cloths & yes possessed or not possessed how can any girl wish to marry a guy who tries to molest her? i don want to write anything further about this & be rude. & yeah sharanya's covos with bhoot is kind of funny! how will she destroy ghost? & how on the earth will they take revenge against ghost! i can only laugh at such convos .. duh😆 & Sharanya is here to take only wrong meaning out of Shivs hints so even mids cant help her to decode sharanya's help!😆
plz edit certain unethical words. there's already a lot going on this forum. your post will be reported & get closed for it.

Mallika bang on...I had earlier said in one post...I have absolute no empathy for Sharanya
I just can't connect...she is such a shallow character...the makers have made sharanya heartless...and vyom is such clingy one always emotionally blackmailed sharanya.. attempt to suicide was the worst...

Now too instead of showing her with her mother she is shown romancing her husband wah re..

Absolutely! and that is a prime reason why it is so difficult to connect with the key characters and buy in to their actions. This is particularly true for Sharanya. As someone who has lost 5 years worth of memory, her character seems to have completely lost the plot. I cannot sympathize with her, nor can I understand why she is falling for Vyom, or her lack of emotional response to the loss of her father. Add to that the fact that she casually blames everything on a spirit 😆 - never knew blaming stuff on a spirit was such a normal conversation point in normal households !!!!
every one seems to be operating at a disjointed point of time.

As per my knowledge and experience we should never try to find logic in ITV. 🤣 It's waste of time we had seen in many shows like this kind of things happening. Some one dies or kidnapped still they decked with all the make up grand saree & with matching accessories 🤣

But after death of u r father she was supposed to be with her mother & brother cause they needed her the most 😲 but she is romancing with her husband 🤣 😆 ok agreed marriage has be complete before solar eclipse that is understandable but reception? 🤪 They could have done later once they found out missing father. 🤔

Threatening spirit who is invisible and challenging the spirit. We take all his happiness like WTH u r telling the one who is already dead 🤣 kuch bhi anivyi 😆

I think such scenes are a waste of time...the audience that watch this show at 10(majority) doesn't care for too much emotional drama...
Remember in friends when nana is dead they all go home, then come back for the funeral...
In my opinion the mind is programmed in such a way to expect such scenes by typical serials...such scenes are added to increase the episodes...it doesn't contribute much to the story!!
Again can't take sth out of Indian TV...the sleep wearing heavy jewellery!!

Bang on post Malika!! 👍🏼
I seriously thought that thrillers are meant to be fast paced & that's why it lacks emotional connectivity 😆

From LIKING to extreme DISLIKING to now NEUTRAL...that's the journey of Sharanya's character for me!! The girl who is not too keen on learning about her past. The girl who is hell scared of a ghost but what she's doing to fix it? Nothing!! Instead she gets married to Vyom to protect him from the ghost. Like how can she protect him? I still didn't get it!! I think that's the reason why I don't feel anything for VanYa...the decision is out of guilt & sympathy and not because she loves him.

Challenging & blaming ghost part is damn funny!! 😆

That just perfectly sums up my feelings about the characters especially Sharanya...you are absolutely correct...
Well the only reason I am still sticking with the show(albeit on off) is because shiv still holds a certain mystery for me..and I would like to see his story...otherwise the characters are pretty messed up...madhavi and rajan are the only well etched out characters, true to their intrinsic nature till now...
Agree wholeheartedly with everything you say...
I think they concentrate on the thriller aspect so much that they completely forget to address the issues that arise because if the thrill quotient in the show... I hope shiv's track is not half baked...I'd like to see a character which has a proper story
I cannot fathom sharanya or her actions and reactions...which is why I cannot empathise with the character or what she has gone through...
I hope they start with a tighter screenplay now that Shiv's back story will be revealed...
