Mehul Kajaria, who garnered fame playing Harsh in Kyunki, is now playing the villain in Ratna Sinha's Babul Ka Angann Choteey Naa.
We spoke to Mehul about his new role in Babul. "This is the first time that I am playing a multi-faceted character. I play Vinay, a selfish middle-class guy who wants to earn easy money. In order to elevate his status in society, he wants to go to the US, leaving his parents alone. Completely devoid of any emotions, he doesn't care a fig for his family. Soon you will see him turning evil as he blackmails his sister. All in all, it's an interesting character to play. At the end of the day, an actor must be satisfied with his work. I'm enjoying playing Vinay."
Why did you quit Teen Bahuraniyaan? "With a not-so-important role, I had been relegated to the background in Teen Bharaniyaan. There was no creative
satisfaction. Hence I decided to move on."
Mehul became popular with the role of Tulsi's youngest son, Harsh Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He quit the serial because he was not comfortable playing a character older than him in real life. He has featured in TV shows namely Hip Hip Hurray Part II (Zee), Koi Apna Sa (Sony) and Kehta Hain Dil (Star Plus), and in movies like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai where he played
Tusshar Kapoor's friend.
