If you haven't watched Tiger Zinda Hai and aren't planning on watching it or if you have watched it OR if you don't really mind the spoiler then keep on reading.
Tonight, I finally had the chance and time of watching Tiger Zinda Hai which stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
In the movie, there's a scene where Tiger (Salman Khan) is trying to save a child but has been surrounded by the enemy's army and that's where Zoya (Katrina Kaif) enters and she drives up to Tiger and the child whilst shooting down the goons.
As Tiger sees and realises that Zoya is the one who came to his rescue, he doesn't question her AT ALL. He doesn't start to scold her or have a go at her for risking her life and coming all the way down here to help him in his mission and that's because he's aware of her CAPABILITIES.
Doesn't this scene remind you guys of another couple? It sure does remind me of a particular couple and that's Neil and Avni. I could literally see Neil and Avni in Tiger and Zoya. This is due to Neil's trust in Avni's capabilities. Neil's support and trust towards Avni and him knowing that Avni is capable of handling herself and more. Besides, Neil himself has admitted that Avni knows what she does. Avni knows how to get into trouble and how to get out it. Neil has also admitted to the fact of Avni being one step ahead of him at times.
I definitely see Tiger in Neil and Zoya in Avni. Tiger and Zoya work as a team just like Neil and Avni and it gives me immense pleasure viewing that as actors and characters they are challenging the patriarchal thinking of how women are subordinate to men.
Lastly, I'd definitely recommend Tiger Zinda Hai. It really is a blockbuster. No other words would do justice to this spectacular movie. Hats off to the team!
