The happiest moment of their lives replayed in his mind to taunt him about the mess that life had created. His face was pressed against the window as his eyes travelled to the view of the sky, the dark night sky. Millions of stars twinkling under the canopy.
As much as he tried to hold it, the pain came out like an uproar from his eyes in the form of tears. He tried blinking them away, but the droplets of water did not show any sign of stopping. The muffled sobs wracked against his chest, his orbs turned red; when he cried there was rawness in it.
She stood at the threshold, helpless seeing her son break and shatter into fragments. Their happiness was short-lived. Her heart filled with immense rage as she cursed the devil for creating a havoc in their lives. The tears that trickled down were wiped before she walked back to her room.

She sat on bed, blank, giving away zero emotions on face. She had witnessed the brutality that the world can throw upon. Destiny loved to play with her, she was its favourite plaything afterall. The warm saline droplets of water stained her cheeks. She felt cheap; dirty and used. She could remember nothing except for the devil's hand that roamed all around her body.
No mother could see her child suffering. She was determined to do anything that would bring back the old version of her daughter; feisty, fiery woman, a force to reckon with. Eyes sparkled whenever she spoke something she was confident of.
