I have watched ton of female oriented movies.

And in most of these, if they want to show free liberated women , they show them have sex. As if having sex sets them free or something!

I know sex is form of liberation, but, by showing only this aspect, we are moving backwards. I get it. Women are sexually repressed , But , why show independent strong women as independent only when they have sex..?!

Why not show women who have control over their life in terms of job , money , family life , kids , travelling. There are so many things.

Just like how powerful women are shown as evil bitches, this is also a stereotype and cliche.!

I wish they would stop doing this you know

that is why my fav woman liberation movie is dor..
have never seen such a beautiful simple story before..
there is no need of love shove..just pure friendship is enough
to portray ..the last scene is what is real liberation is..
no more held back by logg kya kehengge nonsense..
just live ur life..

In a patriarchal society where people think women don't want sex then...

sex = liberation

Right now India's blocked condom adverts...

Women like Sunny Leone are still s**t shamed, or if people defend her, they'll say it was a mistake. Sunny never said her past was a mistake.

Women who are confident and free will have sex and enjoy it.

I think in some cases it is because of repression. But also to sell to the masses sex sells! So controversial too. Gets people talking, you know. But other than that I don't really know why that is? There are other things that are repressed in society, why not show that as well?
