I remember sameer clearly mentioning twice or thrice that his name meant the wind which just drifts in any direction pretty much signifying how sameer is himself, he is not bound to anyone, does not feel the emotional attachment to anyone except nanu and his friends and has no direction or aim in his life...but this same wind has a different form also.
Once the wind starts gaining momentum and comes into force it turns into a tornado or hurricane. Those winds have the strength, intensity and determination to uproot and bend trees, cause immense damage to structures and turn the course of nature upside down.Once the realization of naina's importance in his life takes root and he sets his mind to getting naina back in his life he will bend and uproot all those situations that are going to block his path ,that is the strength of his determination.
I guess sameer would have done the same thing for his mom, for her to belong in his life but somehow i feel on some subconscious level sameer knew that just by abiding by her, doing what she wants... she might be affectionate towards him but that love will be conditional and superficial. Sameer wanted someone to love him for himself that is why though he was hurt and heartbroken he compromised with it. But when it comes to naina, though there were times when naina failed to understand him or was angry with him...she never failed to reach out to him. Naina has accepted him even when he was at fault, she loved him unconditionally...and that is going to give him the much needed motivation to turn his life around so that he becomes deserving of her love❤️
