I can't say I'm very happy about Shanny forgetting everything, or at least telling Vyom the same. I feel like the whole scene had a different connotation.
Maybe, she didn't go the way normal girls would after a rape attempt because somewhere, her subconscious knew that the person who did that wasn't Vyom to begin with. She wanted to call off the marriage, didn't want Vyom's name on her mehendi, she was conflicted, but she still wanted to talk to him and confront him instead of assuming the worst and making a decision based on it.
Yes, she's a deewaani, for sure. But this surely wasn't deewaangi at work. It was her sixth sense. I did mention this somewhere that I wanted to see how Shanny reacts to a possessed Vyom's touch (we weren't shown the rape precap then). And I'm glad that the CVs showed us how Shanny, despite being traumatised, was still subconsciously able to feel the difference.
And it was this sense that made her say those things. She was not forgetting anything, but she had sensed danger in the way Vyom was behaving, and she chose her words of desperation accordingly- it's how the negotiation team in FBI buys time when a criminal is threatening to kill a hostage or himself/herself. It was desperation to save his life mixed with a careful choice of words and a dash of deewaangi that we witnessed. 😳
