So, a few people weren't happy with how Kanak's declaration of love went today, so I decided to write an OS on how I think it should have been. Note- I have not seen the episode yet!
Kanak pulled open the door of the car, slamming it shut she walked around to Uma
She had so much she wanted to say, but she wasnt sure how?
A simple I love you wasnt anywhere near enough to express how he made her feel
From the moment she had found out she was in love with him, her world was brighter, she was always smiling.
Just one glance from him gave her butterflies, how could you put that into words?
How could you thank someone for teaching you what love is?
"Hey Kanak"
Kanak shook out of her trance
Uma furrowed his brows "Why are you crying"
Kanak lifted her hand to her cheek, crying?
She hadnt even realised
Shaking her head she watched him open his car door and get in
"Uma I love you"
Kanak closed her eyes in frustration , he couldn't hear her
Uma opened his window "Get in"
Kanak shook her head "Uma, ive been trying to tell you something for so long and it hasn't worked
And I dont know a word that explains how I feel, so all I can say is that I love you and I just have struggled to"
"You love me" Uma asked
Kanak looked up at Uma who was now towering over her
Breathing a sigh of relief she was happy she had got the words out, but now what? How would he react?
A tear fell onto Kanak's face, but she had stopped crying?
Looking up she noticed it was Uma's tear
All at once she was pulled to him, he held her tightly to him as she placed her hands on his shoulders, gripping tightly, like letting go would mean this was a dream
"I have waited so long for those words, I never thought I would ever get your love, no matter the mistakes I have made, you found a way to love me anyway"
Kanak was over joyed at his words
Suddenly pulling away he wiped away his tears "I dont deserve your love"
Kanak rested her hand on his face "Look at me please"
So he did, like he could ever deny her of anything, he was a man in love!
"You deserve my love more than anybody, we all make mistakes but you realise when you do and you make it right, maybe our relationship didnt start out right "
Uma flinched at the memory
"But thats okay, because we were meant to be together, you have made me feel things I have only seen in the best hindi films, made me believe in love and made me the happiest person in the world, the word love isnt strong enough to explain just what I feel for you"
"I love you to Kanak "
And, just like that Kanak was breathless, speechless but every hassle seemed like nothing, every trouble could be solved, every enemy would lose
Because the man she loved, loves her back
And as he wrapped his arms around her, resting his face in the crook of her neck, the scent of chandan filled him with happiness
Kanak closed her eyes, for she had found home
Every struggle had been worth it, every difficulty could be faced if he was by her side
