But just want to say one thing though - in the subject of rape/sexual harrassment, it is the man who does it. So, let's get him off the pedestal. It all boils down to the man and his mentality. Any man seeing a woman in such clothes may be se*ually aroused, but to actually do something untowardly, comes from what he is made of.

👏

Precisely. At the end of the day, no woman "asks for it". If dress sense is a rule of thumb as to who gets raped/harassed, then women in burkhas, salwar kameezes, children fully covered would be safe. Unfortunately, that is far from the truth. Women who are decently dressed do get raped, do get harassed....children as well....sometimes even murdered. It is a power thing for the rapist/harasser. 😡

What I find funny is when the men wear shorts/knickers under their dhotis/lungis and that's sensationalized. Even get away with it for looking plain crude. Why not underwear? Is it a better fashion or more appealing to front benchers?

You mean the Patta Patti underwear (broad vertical stripes) that actors like Goundamani/Senthil/ Vadivelu wear under their Veshti, but which is exposed when they roll up the veshti? I think it's more of a funny stuff, to appeal to "all benchers".
