The DVD
"Omkara jiii" screeched Gauri when she came into the room after dinner, staring at a DVD in her hand, unaware that her husband was standing right in front of her and was on the verge of going deaf with her shrill voice while he could still hear a sharp piercing sound inside his head. "Ohh aap yaheen the? Humne dekha nahin..." she said in a sheepish tone as she apologized for being the reason of his partial deafness. He shook his head with a smile that almost said Iss chiraiyya ka kuch nahi ho sakta. His focus suddenly shifted to the DVD in her hand. "Yeh kya hai?" He asked, and she said, "Yeh Rudy Bhaiyya ne humein diya tha aapko dena ke liya." Omkara frowned wondering what it could be.
Omkara switched the TV on and inserted the DVD into the player. "Aur haan..." Gauri said as she settled next to Omkara on the bed, ready to watch the video being played, "Unhone yeh bhi kaha ke yeh picture dekhne ke baad aapko kaam pe lagna hai..." Omkara was more confused, "Kaam pe lagna hai? Kaunsa kaam?" Gauri shrugged, "Humne bhi Rudy bhaiyya se yehi poocha. Lekin unhone haste haste kaha ke aapko pata hai ke woh kiss kaam ke bare mein baat kar rahe hain. Bass humse toh unhone itna hi kaha, aur wahan se chale gaye" Omkara was all the more curious now. What was the DVD about?
The minute Omkara pressed the play button on the remote, his eyes widened and his wife shrieked. For, the movie featured a very seductive woman in the rain while a man roved his hands all over her body. "Cheee! Yeh kaisi gandi picture de diya Rudy bhaiyya ne aapko dekhne ke liye?" she said in a harsh whisper as she covered her eyes with her hands. When she did not hear any reply, she peeked through the gap between her fingers, only to find Omkara staring at the TV screen with a shocked expression. She frowned and covered his eyes too with her hand while still covering hers with her other hand, "Aap bandh kijiye isko. Cheee!" she said in a high pitched tone. "Arey tum meri aankhein bandh karogi toh main isko bandh kaise karunga?" he said as his fingers hurriedly searched for the power button on the remote of the DVD player. Somehow, he turned it off and looked at Gauri, who looked as red as a tomato.
"Woh..." an embarrassed Omkara said as he cleared his throat, "Main yeh DVD Rudy ko wapis karke aata hoon..." he said to which she nodded. But when he was just about to leave, another thought struck his mind. With a devilish smirk, he sat back on the bed and Gauri stared at him in confusion. "Lekin main kyun wapis karoon?" he asked, and she frowned as he said, "Rudy ne tumhe yeh DVD di thi na, toh tum hi wapis kardo. Main nahi jaaunga..." Her lips formed a perfect O. "Hum kaise denge yeh DVD unko? Humein sharam aa rahi hai. Ek toh aisi gandi picturewali DVD hamare haathon mein thamakar chale gaye, oopar se..." she paused as she thought about something else.
"Ek minute Omkara ji..." she said in a wary tone, "Rudy bhaiyya jis kaam ke bare mein baat kar rahe the, woh kaunsa kaam hai?" Omkara's smirk told her that he knew what she was talking about. When he was about to feign innocence, she said, "Jhoot mat boliye. Aapke chehre pe saaf likha hai ke aap jaante hain hum kiss bare main baat kar rahe hain..." Omkara turned towards her and looked into her eyes. Then in an extremely seductive and husky voice, he asked, "Haan mujhe pata hai ke Rudy kiss bare mein baat kar raha tha." She gulped as she noticed him inching closer to her, "K... kiss bare m... mein?" She closed her eyes when she felt his breath fan her face. Slowly he bent his head and inched towards the nape of her neck; or so she thought. Omkara smirked when he heard her gasp as he brushed his lips against her cheek. Then he whispered in her ear, "Rudy, Chote O ko duniya mein lane ke bare mein baat kar raha tha..."
To say that her cheeks turned red in shyness would be an extreme understatement. For a moment there, she just buried herself in the crook of his neck, not willing to meet his eyes. Only when his fingers crawled up the skin of her back, which was exposed due to the backless kurti of hers while he had gathered her hair to one side of her shoulder, she grabbed the material of his shirt in her fists. "Toh, Mrs. Gauri Omkara Singh Oberoi, iss bare mein aapka kya khayaal hai? Kya aap ek chote Omkara ya ek choti Gauri ke liye ready hain? " She refused to say a word. Instead she hugged him tightly.
She refused to let go of him even after he had made her lie down on the bed. "Tumne jawaab nahi diya, Gauri?" He said as he dipped his head to place a kiss on her shoulder, as he skilfully undid her dupatta. Her heaving breath, her uneven pulse, her racing heart, and her blushing cheeks should have been enough for him to know the answer. And he did know it too. Yet, he wanted to hear it from her. "Kya aap yeh chahte hain?" she asked, as his fingers attempted to undo the zipper of her kurti. He stilled for a moment, her words sinking into his cognition. Did he really want this? Did he really want a baby?
An image of a pregnant Gauri flashed in his mind. A baby; his baby. He smiled. He realised he longed for it. A family of his own. The mere thought made him feel overjoyed. He leaned up and rested his head on his palm, with his elbow supporting his weight. He rested his hand on her belly and caressed it through the fabric. A certain incomprehensible expression followed by a mirthful glint shone in his eyes, as he imagined himself as a father, as a dad. Someone to call him Papa. He grinned as he looked at Gauri and nodded, "Gauri, agar tum ready ho, toh main Papa banne ke liye ready hoon..." The way with which Omkara said it made her heart flutter. Placing a hand on his cheek, she lifted herself to meet him halfway, and soon his lips were pressed against hers.
The bright moon witnessed the two lovers becoming one, all over again, as they ascended the zenith of love and pleasure; a night that not only brought about a union of two bodies, minds, hearts and souls, but also resulted in something much more miraculous. A spark of life came alive in her womb, which was of course unknown to them both at that moment. Their love, their passion saw a new depth as the first seedling of life sprouted within her, making them both nurturers of the marvelous gift that they were to receive in the form of a beautiful baby girl in nine month's time. The news of her arrival would make its way soon, but for now, the two lovers found solace in each other's arms, as they savoured and relished each others passion.
The next morning, the knock on their door interrupted their sleep. While Omkara had wanted to wake up to making love to his more-than-willingly-ready wife, it was Rudy's annoying voice that irked him, causing Gauri to simply rush to the bathroom while clutching the sheets around her.
Rudra Singh Oberoi's jaw hung open at the sight that met him at the door. An usually shy Omkara greeting him at the door, shirtless, meant only one thing. "Kaam ho gaya?" Rudy asked with a joyful, mischievous grin, and Omkara only grinned in reply with a subtle nod. "Yes!" Rudy threw his fists in the air, only to have Om roll his eyes at him. "Tu subah subah ye poochne aaya tha?" Omkara asked uninterestedly. Rudra nodded first, and then shook his head in refusal. At Omkara's frown, he explained, "Actually main woh DVD wapis lene aaya tha." Omkara raised a brow, "Tujhe uss DVD ki zaroorat kyun padi?" Rudra grinned as he scratched his head, "Woh... Sumo ka birthday aa raha hai toh maine socha..." Omkara raised his hand, not wanting to listen further. Handing over the DVD he shut the door, after ordering Rudra not to ever mention the details of Somu's birthday ever, no matter how drunk he would be.
Once Rudy left, Omkara heard Gauri hum a tune in the bathroom. With a sly smile, he quietly crept inside to join his wife in the shower, and to complete the incomplete good morning wish he had in mind for her.
