Today was explosive to say the least!
It was kind of obvious that Sudha had a hand in Vatsalya's death. Pujan is smart and he also wanted to kill Vatsalya, but his plans always fail. Plus he was the obvious choice given that he made the call and the plan.
With Purushottam's entry though a lot is going to pick up. We had a flashback today where something Sudha said stuck with me. She said, "Iss Kurukshetra mein aamne saamne ka waar nahi hoga. Bas lukha chupi hogi. Maut dikhegi aur muskhurat chupi rahegi hamari muthi mein." That line has so many layers to it. On the top and most visible layer, this means that Sudha and Purushottam will continue to give LM such wounds, but won't let it be known that it's them.
On a second layer, this implies that the two have a much deeper plan than simply making Narottam heir. If it was as simple as that then they would have killed Anami right away when she was first revealed and then killed Avdhoot as well. That would have left Vikram with no option but to make Narottam heir or to give RS to someone else. This means that this Kurukshetra is not just about heirs. It's a deep-seeded hatred.
On a third level, this implies that the two have planned quite extensively. They have thought of every scenario possible. They have planned each scenario and will attack each scenario. However, here I do want to tie the flashback into the present. Sudha is anxious, nervous, and tense. She feels that they are losing control. And that is because of two people only: Anami and Narottam. Sudha and Purushottam may have planned every scenario. They may know what every LM wasi would do or how they would react. But they forgot about Narottam. They didn't understand him. They assumed he had been raised into the killing machines they are. That was their first mistake. But their second mistake was underestimating Anami. When she was brought into the mix, they assumed who and how she is based on her upbringing, her current emotions (at that time), and her dialogues. If they had waited a little longer and tried to understand Anami a bit more their plans might have been different.
Finally, on the most deepest level, this dialogue implies that this Kurukshetra will not be fought in the open. In the future we won't get any explosive confrontations and arrests and a proper ending. No. It'll be haphazard. It'll be a fight that will lead to the results, but some will be open-ended and some closed-ended. Purushottam will die, but Satrupa will die. Narottam will die, but so will Ladoo. (I don't actually mean these. I'm just giving these as examples. I hope to GOD that nothing happens to Ladoo.) Dheeru will mold Anami into a proper heir, but that may not be what Vikram wants. This Kurukshetra is hidden and so the moves, the fights, the deaths, the wins, the losses, everything is hidden as well. Satrupa bringing Ladoo appears like a win for her, but is it going to be for sure? We aren't sure about that yet.
Moving on from the flashback to the present there are two things I noticed and want to comment on.
First was Sudha's repeated use of "mera beta" and "hamara beta" for Narottam. This is the first time ever that Sudha has acknowledged that Narottam is her son. Up until then she never actually referred to him like that. He was always Narottam or LM waaris or Baldev's son or Baldev and Sudha's son. Notice how the third person has disappeared and the first person has appeared. I do feel this was deliberate though. She's trying to develop a connection with Narottam now that he's slipping out of her hands. She's trying to evoke emotions that she doesn't have to bring Narottam back to her side. But given how deliberate it seemed, I feel even Narottam will see right through her.
Second was the potli that Sudha handed to Purushottam and Purushottam's subsequent escape. For a man who is "dead" and easily changes appearances and moves quietly here to there, the show of giving him the potli and his subsequent escape were very loud and in your face. That was done deliberately. Purushottam dropped that potli containing Kamini's jewellery to deflect the viewer's attention. The real potli has something else. Similarly, Purushottam's loud escape was done deliberately. I feel it was done to confuse LM. While everyone turns their suspicion to Sudha and starts suspecting that she has her hand in this "robbery", Purushottam can easily slip through the cracks and make his next move. As Sudha said in her flashback, this is a Kurukshetra to be fought in a hidden manner and what better way then to divert the enemy's attention and attack from behind?
Overall a very explosive episode indeed!
