Pati ka farz, Patni ka haq - RiKara TS - Removed
Dear Readers.
Firstly, i would like to thank all the people who have liked this fiction and given me such lovely reviews on it. Thank you so very much, it means the world. Unfortunately, the satirical nature of the post was lost on some and I have been asked to edit some of it - but if you know me, then you should know this: I would never compromise my creativity for anybody's sake... it's throwing away my integrity, if I were to do so. Therefore I have moved this piece to my Wattpad account and will shortly be posting it on my blog. Plz PM me for links.
Because I really value all of you guys and many of you encouraged me to write this piece, I am going to tell you exactly what about it raised 'flags'. Talking to a very helpful moderator I was informed that my 'bashing' of a fictional character in my heavily disclaimed work of fiction had resulted in this piece being locked and reviewed. Patiently, I awaited a verdict on the case and was informed that it would be best for me to edit part 2 as it contained some bashing of Shivaay - naturally I am not the type to agree without discussion so here is my reply, the same I present to all of you:
'I don't believe in that kind of censorship when it comes to works of fiction so I will be removing the whole TS. Thank you for your time. I noticed you picked out Shivaay being mocked' - ironic for me as I feel that Dadi was the person I used satire most on. I appreciate the sentiments of all though so if despite all the disclaimers I've left, it has hurt somebody's feelings, I would like to apologise to them. Thanks for your time.'
As they are in place to support and help as well as police us, the moderator did suggest she could help me by indicating what needed to be changed, but I have always been firm in my decisions, so I responded to her as so:
'I'm afraid that would send the wrong message to my readers. I fully believe in creative freedom so I don't want to be party in constricting it. Thanks for all the time you've taken to review and get back to me. I will remove the fic by the end of the day.'
Again. the moderator tried to help and suggested that perhaps I would consider moving the fic un-edited to the ff-forum where there are less restrictions, but I did not want to expand the hate outside of this forum and contaminate the rest of India Forums, so I responded:
'It's alright, I have a wattpad account. Honestly, I am disappointed that the forum is in such turmoil - the conflict is sometimes overwhelming and I'd rather keep my work away from it if it's a cause for more conflict. I wouldn't want to take the issues in this forum to other parts of India forums.'
Now I am removing this work of fiction from here, but I want you all to know that you are truly amazing.
So now, I'd like to make a little request. Let's not sink to a level where we begin to report the creativity of others. If you enjoyed my fic, then please never be that person who will try to censor the creativity of others. If someone disclaims their work as satire, then please take it as that. If it offends you then please look away - I have done so many times in the past personally. Because art and creativity should be treasured... cherished... they should never be a cause for hurt.
I apologise to anybody offended by this piece or any other, but I would like to thank you for taking the time to read it - if you miss my writing PM me and I will send you links to it.
