What is the reason why our show has always had a small cast do you think?
Pre leap they were still more character but post leaps the characters started reducing

If the ph budget is low, why is that the case?

With the 5 yeap leap, I think that should change

With small cast they still getting good ratings and profit then may be thinking to continue with it.
I'm against the idea of too many actors to fill the Hall and most of the times, didn't have any dialogues but just there to give shocking expressions.(the situation of many so called family shows)

Here Udaan cast is small but only one thing I didn't understand why they are not replacing actors once they quit the show and why to kill off characters unnecessarily ?

Bini i know what you.mean about excess characters. but in udaan we hardly have side plots and thats because we dont have many characters. They have never really tried out having good side tracks apart from the imvaan attempt which failed
Exactly they never go for replacements either

Vivaan could have been replaced

Ajay aditya too could have stayed if replacements were made.

Why they only want 3-4 characters

I dont think that there is a budget issue.
I have already said it once,in shows like Udaan, only that actor's are present who can contribute to the storyline in some way.
actor's and characters are never used just for standing.

but even I don't get it,as to why, they get rid of characters this way,why not opt for replacement.
but Udaan is different in all aspects

Agree with bini, having characters make the number adds nothing to the show. More characters means more unsatisfied actors because many won't be happy making up the numbers. Already BuKa and Tejaswini have very little to do and previously, they struggled with making Imli and Vivaan's stories interesting.
I didn't watch pre-leap but I think it was because the story had a child lead so they had scope to add stories beside the hero vs villain arc. After the leap Sukor's story ran parallel Chakor vs KN.

I like the style used in Banaras track, add track specific character to help the story without having to worry about giving them their own story later.

I was unhappy about killing Ranjana, but it was the right decision. The character had very little to do and if they simply made her run away to her father, then she wouldn't have been punished for killing Manohar. They should've written it in a better way to avoid all the loopholes.

Rabia you are right they need characters who contribute to story but why dont they come up with tracks involving those characters. That way they can show tracks which are not possible with sukor. For example they can show a social track on child marriage post leap, sukor can be shown against it while they can have characters who are victims of child marriage and their side plot
They need to experiment

Mesh it would have been better if they would have shown vivaan sending ranjana to jail for his dads murder. They coukd have shown ranjana realising and confessing. Someone like kn punishing ranjana wasnt the best way to do bec he himself pounced on ranjana as soon as monahar died.
They need to get rid of bhuka too bec they dont make much of a contribution unless they stand up against imli to support chakor

Banaras track was one of my fav too. Well written and executed
Side plots can work if written well

Side plots are rarely interesting, they drag the story. Focusing on the main story is better. Even shows that have parallel leads, they struggle to keep the balance and end up focusing on one pair at the expense of the other. Half an hour doesn't allow the development of two stories at the same time.
I prefer to watch Suraj-Pakhi scenes or Chakor-Preeti scenes than having a friend of the leads gathering clues/ falling in love/ having marital problems.

I know what you mean mesh but side plots can help prolong the story and show
This leap can be a freshh start for sukor but if they show everything fast with them, then again they will reach the same position as they are today. Adding side characters and sub.plots can extend the show

They dont need a parallel love story

@bold, this is what they did in Banaras track, it was almost a domestic violence track, and there was the dowry issue, although that wasn't really addressed and was used to introduce RV. Other social issues could've been used before the leap but by going with a leap and a new villain, they already have slavery as a social issue to tackle. There should be variation in the central plot from one track to another, so far they avoided having the show becoming too preachy, I hope they keep it this way.

I wish that they handled the track after bandhua track better and had Sukor working on some problem together that would've led to their love realization. I prefer plots with action and very little melodrama, so I would've liked them to investigate Ragini's past or something similar.
