Dubai Dhamaal: A Scintillating Night

Dubai Saturday, February 09, 2008: They Came, They Saw and They Conquered the hearts of their die hard fans in Dubai. The organizers named the event "Dubai Dhamaal" and YES!! it was indeed "Dhamaal Ki Shaam" (an evening of non stop entertainment) at the Global Village Dubai Amphitheatre on Friday, February 08, 2008.

A large number of Indian expatriates residing in UAE witnessed this scintillating and memorable night which was performed by the contestants of popular television shows IndianIdol and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) - from 9.00 p.m onwards. The show was compered by a renowned personality in UAE, Mr. Gaurav Tandon of City 101.6 radio F.M who held the audience spellbound with his sonorous voice and mimicking abilities.

Mona Singh who played the lead role and rose to fame in the popular television serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and winner of JDJ season 1 was an apple of everyones eye. She stole the show and held the audience spellbound along with popular dancers Sandhya Mridul, Jay Bhanushali, Prachi Desai and choreographers Nicole Alvaris, Javed Sanadi, Bindi Khare and Loungines Fernandes of JDJ.

Emon Chaterjee and Deepali the contestants of Indian Idol 2007, regaled the audience with their smooth and scintillating voice. They sang a mix of popular Hindi Bollywood numbers and received a huge round of applause from the audience.
"Sound City" ensured that the acoustic system and the sound quality was perfect, and the music was pleasing to the ears.

The audience thoroughly enjoyed the non stop entertainment of 2 1/2 hours from the start till the finish. Some of them left their seats and were seen dancing on the floor inspite of security restrictions. The venue was packed with Bollywood music and dance lovers who were glued on to their seats requesting for more repeat sessions and reluctant to leave the arena. The curtains were finally drawn down at 11.30 p.m.
