SHOT 1
Roli blankly stared at the pregnancy test kit before her while her hand involuntarily went down to touch her belly. She shivered as she leant on the wall of the washroom with a heaving sigh. She is pregnant! She is carrying Siddhant's and her child! The very realization made her break in to silent yet intense sobs.
"Siddhant! You're gonna be a Papa yaar. I'm carrying our child!' she cried curling her pinky finger wondering if he could sense her calling him. She encircled her belly with her arms, her heart brimming with million emotions.
Meanwhile at a corporate office in Mumbai. Sid quickly opened his eyes and sat straight from the chair on which he was leaning all the while. He pulled out his wallet from his pants and opened it, only to reveal Roli's smiling pic in it.
"Roli, why do I feel that you're calling me yaar?' he asked to the pic as his eyes got moist. He wiped them but they kept brimming his eyes as he stared at her face.
"Why Roli? Why yaar? Why did you do this? How happy was our life and see how it is now. You destroyed the very life you dreamt to spend with me. Everything will get over in no time...' he paused as he took a file from his drawer. They were nothing but the divorce papers that Roli had sent him last week. a tear dropped from his eye to her sign on the papers.
"Everything will end now Roli. Everything will. And won't stop you. I know you won't stop even if I say. Roli who used to consider Siddhant's words at the last one is dead already. Now it's just the Dwivedis' daughter who is alive and I mean nothing to her.' he said as he closed the file hard
"I know now I will have to live without you Roli. My brain can understand. But what will I say to this heart of my mine which is protesting to me for you? What will I say yaar?' he cried as he leant back on to his chair, covering his eyes with his palm.
Meanwhile Roli sat on her bed, fidgeting with her phone. Should I call him, she wonders. She almost dials up his number but stops.
"Why should I call him? Will it make any difference? Will he get affected by the news that I'm pregnant? Will it matter to him?' she asked to herself. Just then she found the door of her room being opened and her mom entering in.
"Roli beta? Aren't you asleep yet?' she questioned as she walked up to Roli. Roli quickly kept her phone away, trying to look normal. How will Mom react when she gets to know that I'm carrying, she wondered. Meanwhile Meena walked to her and settled near Roli on her bed.
Roli? You cried?' Meena questioned, noticing Roli's bloodshot eyes and reddened face.
"No Mom woh...' Roli searched for an alibi while she felt Meena lifting her chin with her finger.
"Stop thinking of that idiot Roli. He doesn't deserve you.' Meena said as she wiped the tear that dripped from Roli's left eye.
"Listen Roli. Siddhant was a mistake in your life. A wrong decision you took going against us. As we expected, the mistake could survive only few months. Leave it. You're fine beta. Why do you need a beggar like him? You have us, your house, the infinite luxuries and wealth that's just for you. So stop thinking about him. You'll soon get free from this relationship. And then, we will find you a prince who can take care of you perfectly. So don't worry. Just sleep. We have the hearing at the family court tomorrow. Sleep.' said Meena as she made Roli lie on her bed and covered her with a fluffy silk duvet. She kissed on her forehead and walked out of the room as Roli cuddled t her pillow and wept silently.
What should I do god, she wondered. One side is her parents who want her to get free from this relationship, and other side is this child that's growing inside her screaming that it can never happen. Her heart is screaming out the same, urging her to go back to Siddhant forgetting everything. But she is still confused. Mom told her that they can find someone better for her. But can that person love her with all heart like Siddhant did? Can he make her laugh and pull her legs? Can that person make her feel loved like Siddhant did? Can that person affect her like Siddhant did? Most of all can that person accept the fact that she's carrying Siddhant's child? She didn't know. Let god decide everything, she thought and wrapped her hand around her womb, feeling that her unborn baby is her only solace.
Meanwhile at the office. Sid is still leaning on the chair. He doesn't care for the time these days. Mostly he doesn't leave office at all. Why should he go home early? Who is waiting for him at home? No one. His eyes got brimmed again. There was a time when Roli used to wait for him at home, complaining if he gets late in case. But now? Why did all these happen, he wondered. He closed his eyes and started recalling the past.
